ACR is just a better school than Owen in general when it comes to academics and athletics. Can't blame kids for wanting to play for a winner and not a losing program. ACR didn't recruit these kids. They came to ACR on their own.
As the smallest school in buncombe county by alot my senior class recieved more scholarships and money than any school in buncombe county including the 4a ACR. Better school? Not hardly. As a parent I would rather my kid go to Owen anyday. My mom a former ACR student herself thought so too seeing how she said in no way would we go to ACR. We lived right on top of the line for both schools.
17 conference championships and a winning tradition doesnt translate to a losing program. The last 4 years has been a struggle but heading in the right direction. Our schedule hasn't helped either. We could play cupcake schedules like most of the teams and pad our win column but we play for the most part larger schools plus very good small teams but rarely anyone smaller than us. In fact never smaller unless conference games.
Ok so ACR should no longer play Owen! Instead ACR should schedule Crest!
And Owen should schedule Burns (who is also 2A now) so those two fan bases can hold each other and cry while whining and complaining and accusing about Crest, ACR and Shelby recruiting their players.

Which is legit based on what his program is allowing. Many ACR fans over the years have questioned Kenny Fords integrity.
What his program is allowing is completely within the rules but you just can't stand it. That's the plain unvarnished truth.
No it isn't or it wasnt prior to this year. It has been covered up in a number of ways. False addresses, skirting around the truth. Which is dishonest and not a value of a man of faith
As of this year he can do that stuff but prior to this year not. There is a reason the state changed to 1 transfer in high school. Because they couldn't and didnt police it.

Off topic I know. As an outsider , just curious, you mentioned TCR above.... why are they usually not very good ?
Some of there kids probably go to ACR too. They share a middle school and ACR probably gets more of the kids than they should. Plus Shiloh which use to all be TCR is now split with ACR. Plus TCR is soft. They have athletes, no reason to be so bad.
