I didnt know we had a teacher on here trying to keep us on the subject. Truth is ACR is garbage if they only have Oakley and Fairview kids. It takes kids from every corner of buncombe transylvania and Henderson county to make a team for them. Blackhawk down was crying a couple weeks ago about Christ School texting some ACR players yet he has no problem when the shoe is on the other foot. I agreed with him about Christ school but now that I talk about his team I'm crazy etc. Bricks walls yadyadayada blahblahblah
Well duh that’s just two of our elementary feeder schools. You forgot Bell and Haw Creek. A lot of good players come from those two areas. I heard one time that the school board wanted to take some of or maybe all of the Bell school district and put it in the Owen district. The Bell parents raised so much hell that they scrapped that idea.
Not all of them did. My moms family grew up right below Bell school. Lunsford Road. My Cousin Kenji Lunsford was a load in the late 90's. I know many bell student famalies who were on board. Lunsford Hembree and Newsome folks are my people. Not all of them but many of them. I know alot more of the ins and outs of that program than you might think.
ACR has 4 feeder schools and all of the surrounding counties. No boundaries.i knew of Haw Creek and Bell obviously since my mom went there but the point was not the feeders. It was the surrounding areas. Owen has 2 feeders and no recruiting. That's why we are 4-7 and you guys lost in the 3rd round. Cheat cheat cheat
i been doing some thinking .how bout from now on if the reynolds owen series continues and since reynolds cheats so bad. why dont we use a handicap system. you know like in a drag race.lets say next year we can spot you guys 5 touchdowns. so it will be 35 to 0 at kick off .that would make things seem good for the owen fans. only bad thing is acr would probably play their starters for 3 quarters instead of the normal 2 quarters to score their normal 48 to 70 points. and just to sweeten the pot a bit more for the owen crowd lets let your retired head coach and known acr hater be the head referee .now hows that for being fair and good sportsmanship.can i get a amen. If you have the proof ( like you say you do ), you know the ins and outs of the program and you can substantiate all of these allegations, then why don't you go to the people in charge? Why is that so hard for you to do? Instead of arguing with us on a football message board? Maybe you just like to argue and you get your jollies off of it, I don't know. That's not proof. ACR doesn't have to prove anything. They have all the forms they need as mandated by the NCHSAA.
Honest question....what if any Owen transfers have had any impact on Reynolds football over the last 20 years?
By the way, every transfer from one county school to another is approved by the BCS board. If a family feels that they want their child to attend a different school in county they have to go through the proper steps to do so. Where they live sometimes matters and sometimes does not if they have taken the proper steps. Should a family be required to keep their child at a school where they feel like there is a loss in athletics, academics, or any other reason? Would you handicap your child if there was clear opportunity for them to do better elsewhere?

However, if you think any coach in WNC or NC for that matter is going to turn down a transfer after it is approved by their county system then you are lost. This includes the "great" Kenny Ford.

Ken white was starting rb for ACR. Jake Knine was a starting linemen. Shane Harper started. Josh Grant was kick return specialist and got lots of time. The thing is like I said before after Owen beat ACR Shane Harper moved right back to Owen and tried to be on the team and was not allowed. Funny how that happened so seamlessly without all this red tape you speak of. It doesnt matter if the were big time players at ACR anyway, it hurts a team with 25 kids to lose 1 and 2 a year for that team. There have been many Owen kids who have continued to live in Owen district while at ACR. The nchsaa made a rule that was in place till this year that said if a athlete transferred to another school, there had to be a bonafide move in order to play right away, if not the athlete had to sit 1 full calendar year to play for the new school....so that rule was broken many times regardless of the crap you wanna spew. I have heard it from the mouths of boosters over there that if you come to ACR we will get you a address. I dont care even if you get through the red tape and get the ok...if with a lie, you do it, it is cheating period. I know that was the case many times. As far as kids from other schools I cant say for sure but it's funny how they all end up in one place. Yall have tried to rationalize and make excuses for what is going on but deep down you know I'm on to something. Your loyalty doesnt lie in honesty though, it lies solely with a school. Pathetic is what that is. So yall keep making excuses as to why your school does it but it wont change my mind and many many others across the area. You may have someone come to your defense at some point on this but it's quite telling that this far nobody has. I'm definitely not the only one on this soap box but like I said before most people just dont want to speak up. I'm not one to sit back and say everything is ok though.

One of the biggest items was the transfer rule.
Student who transferred schools after beginning their ninth grade year were originally ineligible to play high school athletics for one full year unless the transfer was for a bona fide change of address or the local education agency approved it.
Now, all students will get one transfer after their ninth grade year if the two local education agencies agree.
“The parents, you can hear it in their voice, ‘I’m just trying to make the best decision for my child, but I don’t want to deny them an opportunity to participate in high school athletics,’” said Rodney Shotwell, NCHSAA board of directors president and Rockingham County Schools superintendent. “When that policy was put in place a few years ago, we didn’t know the unintended consequences that came along with that.”
The decision will also apply to students transferring from a traditional public school to a charter or parochial school, though those schools can establish their own student transfer policies.
▪ The in-season dead periods – in which coaches cannot work with players in skill development – were shortened from six weeks to three weeks. The May dead period for football and all girls sports was eliminated, and there is a new dead period: the last 10 student days of the school year.

Reynolds will do anything to win, got players from other countys driving up everyday. Recuit kids in middle school, my cousin played at the high reynolds blew his phone up, he had th change his number. Reynolds needs called out for this crap, thanks owen 98

The transfer rules are clear with Buncombe County Schools and it is a state wide policy that the rules are per district. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that the transfers that you mentioned by name were either schedule C (approved by BCS) or change of address with a verification by the county.
I am not pledging allegiance to any school. What I am stating is that to make a claim of cheating I would think one would have the ability to provide names or even a name of said boosters. You act as if this is an SEC school we are talking about, where excessive amounts of money are at stake.
I won't argue the actually level at which each of these guys played. There is no point in starting that argument. But....Ken White was some kind of player...but so was his brother Marcus. That's right the brother that transferred from Reynolds to Owen to play after being at Reynolds all three years prior. Its just rare for families to want to relocate themselves to play in an inferior program and that can be a tough pill.

And who is your “family member”? What year was this in? Who did all the calling? Without names, dates and numbers it’s all just rumors and innuendo.

Ken white went to school with me from middle school till transferring to ACR. We won in fact 3 out of 4 years in that span of high school. We were superior not inferior. If you know beyond a doubt then you should no it was either a bonafide move or the C thing. Not it was either or
OMG , so this is pretty much you still being butt hurt about your buddy transferring 20 years ago. My goodness 20 years is a long time to be butt hurt.
Apparently the powers that be see no problem. Neither the NCHSAA or BCS has any problem with ACR and the athletic department. Your perception of reality and actual reality are polar opposites. Just because Owen can’t beat ACR on a consistent basis isn’t because of cheating or recruiting as you want so desperately to believe. It’s because of ( in no particular order ) demographics, coaching, hard working players and a commitment by the entire ACR community from the youth league and up to be the best they can be. I will say that ACR should beat Owen more times than not just because of the difference in enrollment numbers. That usually translates into more and most times better athletes.
In my line of work, I talk to people all the time that are looking to move to the Asheville area and they want to know where 3 particular schools are located. Those 3 schools are ACR, TCR and Asheville. That’s what is happening in Buncombe County that directly impacts the school system and the athletic departments. The north end of the county is starting to show some growth as well and that may well help Erwin and North Buncombe.

Because the powers that be sweep it under the rug doesnt mean it's ok. It costs money time etc to investigate and push against. Resources in other words. It still doesnt change the dishonest behavior that is taking place. As a man of faith that Laws claims to be, it looks like it would eat at him for doing the dishonest practices of his program. Most people would say man of faith would be the opposite of what people would call Ford...and many people question his integrity but I saw first hand Ford not allowing this to go on in his program. In fact several years back Owen got a transfer by the name of Cole Leighton when his dad left his pastorship of a church in Weaverville and became a pastor of a church in Swannanoa. Kenny didnt allow him to play for 4-5 weeks waiting to make sure that the bonafide change of address had happened etc, even though Cole's dad had been preaching at his new church already and had moved into the parsonage. I also saw Kenny and Lee telling kids they had to live in the district to play for Owen. That is not going on at ACR. Whether or not yall argue, dont believe me or whatever, that doesnt change that many,many players from Owen have played for ACR with no move, no circumstances that needed a transfer or anything of the sort. It was a simple disgruntled situation that made the transfer happen. I can tell you details of why the transfers happened per the parents own words. The last 3 transfers of Grant, Knine and Patton. I know the parents and why they left. No legitimate reason and or move of homes for those to happen on a basis of the C. This is a platform to speak on these things because the powers to be dont police there own policies, so no need to go to them. If you dont like what I'm saying then YOU tell ACR to not allow this crap to go on because it is an embarrassment to your community and buncombe county. I think you know the address so I will refrain from posting that.

I don't think it wise to question another man when you have no grounds on which to stand especially when that man is as good as they come. I would avoid doing so toward Shane Laws; it is not a wise move.

Blah, blah, blah. Ok. This has gone on long enough. I am through debating this with you. Questioning Coach Laws' faith is way out of line for me. You can believe what you want. You can go sit around the Six Pack Smoke Stack and talk about the good ol' days with your buddies. I feel sorry for you. I hope you can find closure for your butt hurt problem.
For years ACR fans have bashed Kenny every chance they get, so for me to question what Laws allows to go on over there is very much in line with what he claims to be. I am a man of faith myself and if I were in that mess I would be convicted of it. Just sayin
