Who cares if you score 20 but your play gives up 25? Hes 100% wrong for Pope's system. Won't hate on him but he's a bad fit for a passing system.

It’s more than the box score. Oweh does a lot that isn’t winning basketball. Sure he shines in small spurts but it’s all the rest that he absolutely kills us. He was much better last year than this year, it’s not even close.
Our leading player can’t have a hitched-poor jump shot and more importantly be a poor example of a leader on-off the court…kiss of death at this level.

Agree. Love Oweh, but if he’s the best player your ceiling is limited. He needs to be #2 surrounded by shooters and he’d shine.
Oweh is our best player and easily our best scorer. Forces it sometimes but what’s our backup
plan? Aberdeen’s streaky shooting? Jelavic bricking jumpers? Garrison missing 5 foot shots? Johnson step back threes? Moreno getting the ball taken from him? Chandler desperation 3’s?

That’s on one man, MP, he knew his limitations and should have recognized them and then recruited and built around his deficiencies, instead he doubled down, brought in several more players with the exact flaws.
Then once he saw they couldn't run his offense, he should have adapted and changed it
That’s because Oweh wouldn’t have it any other way. He’s one of the most meme selfish players I’ve ever seen in a Kentucky uniform. Didn’t like who we brought in, failed chemistry problems early, won’t pass, black hole. Of course we need him now he won’t pass to anybody lol. He’s half the problem with this team. Stop ball watching and ppg loggin and watch the game.
The team signals issues with Oweh look around. Chandler throws his hands up all year, never could get Chandler going because he goes ice cold. If anyone else takes a few shots, Oweh demands the ball for points. He’s been playing for the scouts all year. He wanted those awards. Clear as day. The team never got cohesive because of it. Yela all but said it. He was talking about Oweh lol. Come on Yall.
Nicely said, he has helped us, but he is not a number option, even thought he us ours, I've have never seen a player miss so many layups and dribble off his feet or legs so much
Maybe, but we would have more wins if we replaced him with someone who was competent and less selfish.
This game is a clear illustration of why he isn’t on many radars at the NBA level. Size is something that he struggles with almost every time.
I appreciate everything he did this year for Big Blue ,but won’t miss him at all .

Not sure. Maybe. The issue is Mark really should have sat Oweh down early on and showed him the ball hoggin and causing team issues isn’t going to be allowed. He never did it, never once tried to get Oweh to get people involved. Chandler is the one that kills me. He was actually starting to feel himself and become on the of the best shooters in the league. What happens? Defenses begin to focus on him, Pope does nothing about it, Oweh keeps the ball, Chandler loses his touch and couldn’t get going, goes cold. Pope is a really bad coach and people that can’t see it don’t know what they’re looking at. Any coach worth his salt catches that early annd finds ways to get Chandler more touches.
Imagine Oweh rolling his eyes during a press conference with Pitino sitting there? It’s done, *** to the bench and hammered during practice.
I don’t know who maybe Lamar or maybe a guy we didn’t even look at who we could have had that would be played team ball and got along a lot better with the team. I’m just glad he’s gone and I don’t have to watch him but 1 more game most likely.
Fair enough. Yeah the eye roll was pretty bad. Pope should have done what Pitino did with RJ Luis in the tournament last year and just benched his *** when he didn't listen. Probably would have more losses, but I could live with that. I remember seeing odd things throughout the summer and thinking "that's a weird thing to do" like when Oweh "interviewed" Pope about what he thought when he announced he was coming back. Even Pope seemed to pause for a second after he said that. Also the return decision video was just strange like dude you're at best a second round draft pick why are you acting like you were a player of the year caliber dude?
Good catch. I remember that. Yea it was like the Kentucky jersey and the spectacle coming back got in Oweh’s head and he started thinking of himself like Dwayne Wade. Oweh is nothing more than a 3rd option on a typical great Kentucky team. Defensive specialist 3rd offensive option. He’s not a go to guy, if Oweh is scoring more than 12ish PPG, I just think your team is lacking offense.
I was told by someone who I’ve spoke about before that Oweh didn’t like Aberdeen coming in and it’s possibly Aberdeen was paid more, leading to immediate team issues.
What I’ve noticed is that we ball watch on offense and defense .Oweh and Aberdeen dominate the ball by over dribbling.Suddenly, there’s ten seconds on the clock and usually Oweh or Aberdeen will take the shot .Oweh pouts and cries to the refs a lot . Sure, he may have been fouled on a drive but he pouts while the opponents are going the other way.
We have no true alpha males and few athletes on this team .The players we have were mostly back ups at other schools .
The speed of the leader determines the speed of the flock .I like Pope and truly hope that he succeeds but he is not an alpha male and the team follows his lead.

Oweh was a net negative today with too many turnovers, too many bad shots, he just has no concept of team. He wont be missed.
