Overturned completion

This has probably been discussed on here. I haven't posted in a long time.
When we got the ball on their 2 or 3 yard line with 8 minutes left. We were driving down the field.
Were any of you thinking, just keep running the ball? I can't believe we took a shot at the end zone with 3+ minutes left.. I was hoping the overturned completion was not going to be overturned. . We could have kept getting 7-8 yards per carry and punched it in with no time left. I always say take the points when you can, but this was obvious. We needed to run more clock. Between this and the weird onside kick.... I just don't know.

Said the same thing at the time. "Oh, great. We're going to score with about 4 and a half minutes left - just enough time for GS to drive down the field, run out the clock, score, and leave us with no time."

It was basically assumed that GS was going to score no matter what. Only way to stop them was leaving them with no time to do it.

After we scored to go take the lead we should have intentionally let them score to get the ball back

I think tons of fans were thinking the same. You are happy that you scored and you certainly are grateful for the 98 yard drive and the lead. Still... we had been running the ball successfully so I was hoping we would grind it out and bleed the clock for another three minutes and at the very least tie the game with a field goal. As soon as we scored with all that time left I knew that they were going to score on us again. I think we all knew it. And speaking of onside kicks... given how their offense was going through our defense like **** through a goose, after we took the lead might have been a nice time to try an onside kick. Recover it and the game is over. Not recover it, then they score using only 2:00 minutes of clock instead of 3:30 and we have the time to come back. That game was clearly a shoot out game and the team who has the ball last with enough time to score was going to win it.

I literally told my wife, we can't stop them, game over, after we left them 3 minutes. During our drive with about 5 minutes left I started thinking we needed to bleed that clock down to 10 seconds before we score or we can't win. So frustrating to watch it play out

I say we suck so bad you have to score asap. They got the ball with 3 minutes left. But they were scoring so fast I figured we would get the ball back with 1:30 left anyways. We are not nearly good enough to try and hold onto the ball for 3 minutes and kill the clock. I'd there was 1:30 left than yes.

I don't know... at that time we were doing really well running the ball. I will agree... we suck so bad. I thought things were going to be different this year
