I believe it was a harmless... I also believe it was stupid and demonstrates a clear lack of awareness for his job and his audience. And apparently people have reacted to it based on their perceptions. We can't do anything about how they react, now can we?

Has the country as a whole gotten softer...Yes but after thinking about it the fact that people can no longer respect someone with an opposite opinion to theirs is also playing a massive role in this.

That people were offended by his tweet says more about them than him. There was nothing wrong with his tweet. It wasn't even "insensitive". It was a joke. It was an old white woman joking about wanting to kill her husband. There were no racial overtones, no racial undertones, no racial inference, no racial context, no racial suggestion, no racial intent. Just a very vocal minority of idiots virtue signaling over the fact that she was knitting a noose.
Cancel culture warriors really need to make a list of **** that most of us normal people need to avoid mentioning so that we can live our lives without fear of lighting the outrage fuse.

Phone calls have probably already been made and most players that are dedicated to the program have gotten past it as seen in Aaron Brule’s tweet. Leach seemed genuinely ignorant that it would upset people, and I would think most of the players (and recruits) realize his ignorance. If Leach was a racist, it would have shown up by now and he definitely would not be coaching. Our fans reactions have thrown gasoline on it, and they just need to shut up. Leach’s apology speaks for itself and nothing further needs to be said by the fans.

I would not be surprised to see Twitter eventually dropped by most ordinary people and considered a joke. I wouldn't be surprised if Facebook followed suit.
