Would have been a catastrophic loss and the fact it went OT won’t look great but the important thing is its a win and we carry on. It’s November 10 and we weren’t the only Big Ten team that was underwhelming. As long as we don’t actually lose one of these games it won’t matter when all is said and done 4 months from now. If nothing else it will help the team take everyone seriously. On to Merrimack.

similar to the two point win over Bryant in the opener two years ago. That season turned out pretty good

Several big time programs lost home openers at home to lesser programs (UVA, Ga Tech, Nebraska). At least we managed a W.

Higher level of competition on paper but two years ago we got our doors blown off at Fordham and I thought the season was over. We rebounded to have our best season in 29 years.

Really concerned about our ability to keep the ball in front of us on defense, when the likes of Lehigh blow by you, what’s going to happen when we hit the league and try to defend against guards that are quick, we just looked slow afoot and sluggish

I stand corrected. In that case, panic time. Haha. I was at the Fordham game so I guess I have PTSD from it.

The year of the Fordham loss we finished 7-13 and missed the NIT. I think you're thinking of the St. Bonaventure game.
19-20 had a lot of shaky ones early. Bryant had a look at a game winner from 3, Drexel hung around the entire game, losses to St. Bonaventure and Pitt. They righted the ship in time but the beginning of that season was not particularly enjoyable to watch.
