How many people want to talk about how bad Webber is now? All our idiots did was celebrate a final four we didn’t make and talk **** about the coach who beat us.

Maybe stop doing stupid things?
Yeah because what the fans say have all bearing on what happens on the court. Very stupid take. Bottom line, we were out coached, out prepared, out hustled, and showed no heart tonight. It looked like they were just out there playing another game. This is the ******* Sweet 16. We had a Final Four gift wrapped for us and we absolutely should've killed any team left in our region. The man is right, we were out played in every category of the game and this is Kentucky basketball. That can not happen against Kansas State with the chance at a Final Four on the line. I love Calipari and have defended him for as long as he has been here, but if we lose half our team and have to start right back at square one, after the season we've had (11 losses!!!), I will completely lose faith in the system. And if we have to watch Duke win another title, idk how much more I can take. This is one of the worst losses in the Calipari era.

No, not outcoached, just out freethrowed, out hearted and out hustled.... sorry Gossip Girls, it is true.

Cal was terrible tonight. Even his T was a wtf moment. It wasn't intended so the team just didn't respond to it at all. He gave K State points and momentum. That's just the first problem, I'll stop before it becomes a debate which I'm in no mood for really.

Cal tightens up in big games, deny it, believe it, doesn't matter.

Yeah, but all the naysayers are ready to fire Cal. How many FTs did Cal miss?
I agree that Cal didn't miss a free throw. But he did consistently put the ball in the hands of a guy that couldn't make a free throw knowing they were going to foul him. My heart breaks for PJ, but I'm really disappointed right now. Anyone want to buy my tickets for Saturday?

no secret I've always thought Cal struggles bad in game coaching. He even brags about not watching film and just coaching his guys.

I said before the game Shai would struggle because they would collapse on his drives and strip. I think Cal should have recognized this and spaced the floor more, Give Shai more freedom and make it harder to help without the leaving open shooters. Also think he should have inverted PJ and Knox where Kevin could take advantage of his mismatch and he would have been taking the foul shots instead of PJ. every game Knox has a 3 or 4 inch advantage and we Never post him in crunch time.

All that said PJ granny style would have won the game

Unfortunately, no one else, besides Green's wild *** shots, was doing anything. If, and I know that is a big if, PJ had just hit his season average we win. He had a bad night but who didn't? SGA handled the ball like he did at the beginning of the season when everyone was screaming for Green to handle the ball.

Wait til he runs 3 or 4 players off to the draft who aren't ready. Will the Cal colored glasses crew still praise him? I've given him the benefit of the doubt lots of times. But to keep trying to feed the post why wasn't he driving our guards to the rim to draw the fouls? Worked for Weber. Instead, he was directing that damn kick out and K-state guards picked off the pass.... Turnovers from that damn dribble drive killed us, not PJ's foul shooting. When you have more turnovers than made shots, that ought to be a clue.

Cal's problem is he tries to carry this nonchalant, carefree, liberal/ new age attitude and style to coaching and that's not going to yield the best results possible in college. It's an NBA way and these are not NBA players.

If Cal didn't have some of the talent he's had with this philosophy he would really be in trouble.

Players need to scout. You need to expand your playbook, stop being so vanilla. Tighten your grip and work on little things, use your timeouts. Stop recruiting in the middle of games. When you have a player who stares at the f'ng ground before he shoots free throws, tell him to cut that **** out.

It doesn't matter. Cal is going to get the legacy he deserves, one way or the other.

Funny take. We shot terribly from the line, Lost tons of 50/50 balls, gave up tons of open treys and got beat by K State for the first time in history. Hope you are not driving tonight because you're blind .
You’re an idiot. FT’s have nothing to do with effort. We turned it over but we fought for loose balls. Hitting 3’s doesn’t mean they’re wide open. We were generally there and contested. They won’t shoot that well again. The last part has nothing to do with effort either. You’re one of those simpletons, who says one of a few things regardless of what actually happens.

He does like to coach their heads more and let them play through things themselves instead of watching the game strategically and looking for things himself to exploit. He seems to think that's silly

I think the play that decided the game was when Shai drove to the basket, and instead of shooting and getting fouled, he threw it out and turned it over.

He's now lost huge games to Bruce Weber and Kevin Ollie. That's pretty effin hard to do.
But with teams that weren't supposed to even be there. At least he has us in contention year in and year out; 7 out 9 years we've been in the sweet sixteen since he's been here. This hurts but we'll be back.

I'm with ya man. I'm over here saying c'mon man you're hurting my case against the refs. I thought we had a shot until that moment. Then I thought we had a shot again until whatever the hell that shot was. My goodness. To get that close after the game we played plays hell on a fan.
The only thing I can think of to stop the garbage officiating is to penalize the coaches when play the Rick pitino "foul more than their will to call by a multiple of 3 or better" style. Maybe start the season off with a few games where that style team had 30 fouls, only you don't call crap on the other end to make it look nice to the people who just look at the box score. After a while, they'd have to adjust or feel the hatred from the collective landscape. I dunno. This sucks.

I’m not denying we didn’t play well. You were the one who insulted the players and me to begin with. My frustration is primarily with people like you who don’t know what they are talking about but run their mouth anyway.

We hardly contested any of their looks. Are you watching? We are terrible at picking up off of penetration, we sag off because we aren't quick enough or good enough to defend tight to the ball. But we do not contest three point shots well.

Look, Cal is really good and he's got really good players. But he's being killed right now on the recruiting trail by K, he's lost 3 straight to Kansas, we were swept by Tennessee for the first time in 20 years, Alford has had his way with him, and we just lost inside of the easiest bracket in history to a team we're 9-0 lifetime against.

Cal is trending down. If that makes me a hater so be it.

You don't want this kind of crap bleeding into 3-4 more years. We need to make some runs the next 3 seasons.
I honestly think we real make those runs...

He HAS to adapting his coaching; he has done it before. I think he will again.

If not, then at the end of those 3 seasons; He will probably leave, knowing he can't do it anymore.

And it's Weber. That guy doesn't out coach anyone. He's who other coaches go up against to get their confidence back.

FWIW, Weber has actually always been an excellent coach, in terms of coaching up his players and Xs and Os. Instead, his problem has always been recruiting.

At SIU he won big with decidedly mediocre low mid major talent. At Illinois he was GREAT when he still had his predecessor's (ie. Bill Self's) recruits, but thing fell way off when he had his own lesser recruits. And now he's winning with ...well, really not much talent at all playing way above their heads.

Weber clearly can coach. But he can't much recruit. If only his recruiting matched his coaching, he might've become something much bigger.

Lol you clearly said that people need to stop doing stuff like talking bad about Bruce Webber and celebrating an easy road that opened up for us for a Final Four. I can read just find. I just had to call out how ******* stupid that is. So, because I say something to my buddy about how we got an easy road to a Final Four (which is true), the team automatically knows I said that and it made them tighten up?? Clearly you're too drunk, stupid, or both to know how completely ridiculous that sounds. The team knew what they had and they chocked it away. Simple as that.

They lucked out from 3 and we showed up like were here, go home now. PJ, your a coaches son I can't defend 8-20, you lost the game, make 60% and we win. Is that too much to ask. Pro, son you ain't even got the basics down yet.

Looks like a lot of coaches are struggling... we'll see if K has the magic with these type of players.
Even nova is relying on a youngin.
But that core of upperclassmen should pull them through.

again. I just can’t defend Cal anymore. This team was not ready to play. I don’t want to hear about freshman anymore.

Why don't you apply for the head coaching job at UK. Then everything will be fine.
