Pope has been talking steadily about Kam Williams' improvement - his added weight, quickness and return to form shooting. I know that's coach-speak, but it also isn't a huge stretch.

If one of the two - N'Diaye or Williams -- has a breakout year it's hard to imagine many starting line-ups more offensively gifted than Kentucky's with Momcilovic, WIlkins, Moreno, Diallo and the better of Williams and N'Diaye. Taking it eight deep you also have McBride and whoever earns minutes between Hawthorne and Morton, and possibly a surprising jump in performance from Noah.

I just hope somebody on the newly comprised coaching staff is a bulldog defensive coach. Iowa State played tough D - maybe Momcilovic will lead by example.

Highlight videos make every player look great. Having said that, I am convinced this guy has skill and athleticism, not to mention length. He could be an upgrade over BG.
Show me 7 footers who run the floor like a gazelle, has 35” vertical, and can shot from outside.? Answer UK has two of them. One we know and one is named Hawthorne. Fellas , we should run teams off the floor with offense . Pope needs to exert maximum pressure to get them in the best shape of their basketball lives. Take no prisoners, demolish team and use fear to win.

N’Daiye has to be an effective starter at the big forward spot for Kentucky to have a successful season. If we are relying on Williams or Hawthorne to start or play significant minutes, we won’t match up with the rest of the conference.

He has great shooting form, but so did Jelavic.
Dude takes some absolutely WILD shots for a 6'11 guy and still made a higher percentage than Jelavic.

With a more rational shot diet he could easily jump up several percentage points. Jelavic shot about exactly like he did before coming here though my guess is he improves some this year as he gets more adjusted to college ball but not for us.

Neither of the 2 players you are talking about are 7 footers. If you are going to try and make a point (which you shouldn't because you are stupid) at least be valid about your point. Ousmane is 6'11 and Hawthorne is 6'8. From this point forward, anything you say I will automatically know is stupid.

We might be sleeping on Ousmane man 6ft11 long and runs the floor really well

Sorry not high on this guy at all. We'll see. I don't think Kentucky should be handing out guaranteed starter minutes to 6'11 215 lbs shot-chuckers from senegal.

Best part about is, I doubt either start to begin the year. Zoom, Wilkins, Momcilovic, McBride, Moreno gives you size, experience, shooting/spacing, rebounding, and I would wager that its a pretty decent defensive group as well. Kam backs up the 2/3, Hawthorne is back up 3, Morton back up 1/2, Kepnang back up 5, N'Daiye is your back up 4, M Williams 3rd PG but will play. And you still have Noah who can contribute in a role.

You're mostly right but Hawthorne is probably now about 6'10". I say probably because I havn't personally measured his height but podcaster
Andrew Stefaniak(sp?) is about 6'6" and he has stated recently several times that he's stood next to Braydon and that Braydon is a minimum of 4 inches taller than himself. Of course it's always possible that Stefaniak is lying about his own height; doesn't make sense in this context but it's a weird world.

Pope says Hawthorne has grown to 6’10” & has 7ft+ wingspan
Most 6’11” players are closer to 7’ with shoes on.
