this is the problem i have with fans.....you make it sound like landing stokes and momcilovic is not just realistic, but expected. and that getting those two is on mark.

those two guys are going to cost you 10M-12M total.....no way mark has access to that kind of money.
How in the heck did I make it sound like it’s expected? I said he should have the support for them. I said if we got those two that would be worth getting excited about basically. What is wrong about that? Do you think if both wanted to come here we would turn them down? Not come up with the money? Also , I guarantee we haven’t spent anywhere near enough to not be able to get these two guys. If of course they want to come here.

They're 100% more team oriented, grow up passing the basketball. And just naive enough to think Pope is cool. They honestly lean into his 5 out style better too. Honestly not sure why he hasn't tried it.
No dude you don’t get it , we need the drive and dunk over someone, then flex type. Forget about the 3 times they miss or get blocked, gotta have that one highlight dunk. Then the masses on here can scream about it during the game thread.
Pope’s first year was head and shoulders above last years team, they just had bad luck with injuries.

Part of my Pope needs to go international idea.

These US kids think he's a dope and play the channels. His dopiness, like Underwood, likely translates better with internationals. Underwood is pulling out water pistols in the locker room. US kids are all about social media and doing the cool thing - and that's not playing for Pope. These kids will just be happy to get some bucks to play a sport, buy into the brand.
BINGO!

Think 50% of roster should be international players. 2 elite transfers and 2 top 20 high school recruits (pay premium on both).

I mentioned on other post, but I think UK should sponsor and/or invest in a team internationally (league/s tbd). Leverage this international presence as development program and recruiting source for the UK US men’s team.

If college athletics is professional league now, go full professional.

This kid moves as good for his size as anybody I have ever seen. He doesn’t hesitate and knows what he wants to do and has a pretty good stroke and will take it to the basket. His experience shows in these clips we’ve seen, I’m happy with what I see from him. I think he can be a big part of this team giving us a guy that can do multiple things good.

if that is what it is going to take for you to get excited.....prepared to be disappointed the rest of your life.

See what you think, but he DEFINITELY reminds me of Walter McCarty ... !! Prolly needs to shoot a little better than 42/32 ... hopefully, he can and will !!

Speaking of McCarty, my last year of grad school at UK was McCarty’s Prop-48 year. I would go play at Seaton Center often, and sometimes McCarty would be on one of the goals shooting 3’s by himself. He was horrible at shooting 3’s, I mean he would miss 9 of 10 unguarded.

Huge boom. He's a bigger, taller, faster, etc hybrid of Tayshaun Prince and Cleanthony Early (Wichita St. guy that lit us up in 2014)..that's what his game reminds me of. I haven't seen a 6'11 player move and play like a Small Forward or even shooting guard like that. Damn.

so, you need someone to explain what your own eyes can see?
The guy is 6'11" with a 7'3" wing span and moves like a small forward.
I mean, do your own homework, the rest of us already did.
That’s what I say😆. There literally film right in front of these guys but it’s like actual live basketball is foreign to them and all that matters is combing the internet for somebody else’s opinion.

IF somehow Pope lands Stokes

Diallo
Wilkins
Stokes
Ousmane
Moreno

Is quite the intriguing starting 5.

I remember the one from the corner in the LSU comeback game ... I believe either tied the game or gave us the lead.

Ok. I’ll prepare properly. Who said that’s what it’s going to take anyway. Read the post first instead of putting words in peoples mouths. If getting those two wouldn’t get you excited about the season, I don’t know what to tell you. Also, The rest of my life isn’t going to be too much longer so I think I’ll be fine.

If the 5-in-5 rule gets approved, Ndiaye would only have one year of eligibility if I understand it right. 5 years from when he turned 19, so done at 23. Which, he's 22 now. So basically bringing a senior transfer onto the roster in that case, except it's his first year of college. How that eligibility works is beyond me but I hope it does!

He shot over 40% from three for his career at UK.

Yes, this is a extremely nice recruiting win for Pope. A very different approach as well. He is nothing like any of pope's previous recruits. Dont join them, beat them per say.

My only concern is it takes a while for the Euros to get acclimated to college competition. We haven’t had much luck with them. Look at AJ, we thought we were getting a player from his highlights
He does seem to have a lot of enthusiasm for the game. I hope the first time Doug Shows calls a fake charge on him doesn’t take the wind out of his sails.
