:ROFLMAO: lol, come on guy: With Stokes only middle of SEC?

Even without Stokes the starting 5 plus Hawthorne is at least middle of the SEC. Plus we still have spots and options open to fill out the backup slots.

Getting this Senegalese guy really helps, I think. He is the stretch 4 that Pope needs. Plus he will fit well next to Moreno. We'll have two, close to, 7 foot starters, one that can shoot threes. Plus, we will be long on defense with Kam.

I've researched the guy a bit and he is better than Jelly. Jelly played in a developmental league. This guy played in a global "Tier 2" league.

You may be a hater and not realize it.
No need to be a homer. Look at the rest of the SEC. The league is packed next year.

So you knew of these offers before members of the media did? Who is feeding you this information?
We have 6 main euro targets and 3 others without offers but have been in contact. We are wanting to land 2-3 of them. They are all 4/5, I wish we’d look for a shooter over there two but we haven’t been that I know of. No one feeding me info, I just have friends within the program and within a lot of other programs and the NBA. So they text me about Kentucky basketball every chance they get if they hear things. I posted 2 days ago about the guys we were after and they are coming to light starting this morning with more being mentioned soon I’m sure. Lots of people know the info, media just reports what they feel is important. It’s all slop these days. A lot of optimism Crawford takes the coaching job over the weekend, so we shall see.

Big Z was a foreign pro who was going to light it up and be a 1st round pick. He was WAY more highly coveted and rated than this dude. Z is at this third school in three years.

Forgive me for not losing my mind over this guy. UK fans will convince them of anything. 30 minutes ago nobody knew anything about this guy and now we have people on here who are experts in the Italian basketball league getting an erection over the Sengalese basketball team's 5th best player.

But Roy, you should have seen the other four 🥳

Shagari Alleyne was raw. He could barely walk and chew bubble gum at the same time when he got here. This guy is 6-11 and can move, handle and shoot like a guard. He doesn't look raw at all to me. This is a really skilled basketball player. The only question mark is how he adjusts to the rougher style of play here in the U.S., but otherwise he looks quite good to go.
I haven't seen many come straight from Africa and do much in their first year. Maybe he will be another Luol Deng.

How in the heck did I make it sound like it’s expected? I said he should have the support for them. I said if we got those two that would be worth getting excited about basically. What is wrong about that? Do you think if both wanted to come here we would turn them down? Not come up with the money? Also , I guarantee we haven’t spent anywhere near enough to not be able to get these two guys. If of course they want to come here.
if that is what it is going to take for you to get excited.....prepared to be disappointed the rest of your life.

See what you think, but he DEFINITELY reminds me of Walter McCarty ... !! Prolly needs to shoot a little better than 42/32 ... hopefully, he can and will !!

Speaking of McCarty, my last year of grad school at UK was McCarty’s Prop-48 year. I would go play at Seaton Center often, and sometimes McCarty would be on one of the goals shooting 3’s by himself. He was horrible at shooting 3’s, I mean he would miss 9 of 10 unguarded.

Unless we're going to pretend the international leagues are nothing to write home about, his multiple years of experience playing internationally means he's legit, as in starter.
You said something I agree with for once

I could be wrong, but I think there was an episode where Herman played basketball. Also, Grandpa (Al Lewis) worked some as a scout for the Knicks in real life.
Al Lewis made that claim although it was never verified. He did really love basketball but had a history of outrageous claims about his life.
(This Alexa+ is getting much better)

This guy is sick. From his highlights..he reminds me of a Tayshaun Prince/Cleanthony Early (Wichita St.) hybrid. Holy smokes. Awesome pickup and I've been one of Pope's biggest critics.

Huge boom. He's a bigger, taller, faster, etc hybrid of Tayshaun Prince and Cleanthony Early (Wichita St. guy that lit us up in 2014)..that's what his game reminds me of. I haven't seen a 6'11 player move and play like a Small Forward or even shooting guard like that. Damn.

A dude no one has ever heard of, a guy no schools (that I can find) have ever tried to pursue and a guy who isn’t even eligible yet.

Way to go Pope!!!
So you did all that research to put together your case this guys a loser and there’s literally live action FILM of him right here for you and everyone to see. Are you not able to see for yourself?

So you are super up to speed on Italy basketball? This dude isn’t even eligible and a guy nobody else was going after.

Forgive me if I don’t praise Pope for this one yet.
Once again…. Live film right there for you to view and give us your own breakdown. Don’t rely on everybody else, look for yourself and Let’s talk real basketball if you’re able

so, you need someone to explain what your own eyes can see?
The guy is 6'11" with a 7'3" wing span and moves like a small forward.
I mean, do your own homework, the rest of us already did.
That’s what I say😆. There literally film right in front of these guys but it’s like actual live basketball is foreign to them and all that matters is combing the internet for somebody else’s opinion.

IF somehow Pope lands Stokes

Diallo
Wilkins
Stokes
Ousmane
Moreno

Is quite the intriguing starting 5.

You really don't know what you're talking about. He's probably going to be drafted to the NBA next year. He's got a wild, frenetic style but it's effective. He can handle the ball and run the floor. Has a turnaround, a fadeaway, a turnaround fadeaway, and can shoot threes while moving sideways.
I’m trying not to be unreasonably negative, but he’s 22 years old. He’d already be in the NBA if he was doing all that with any consistency instead of just the occasional highlight.

“Raw” doesn’t have to be a synonym for “actually sucks”. It’s just his decision making and basketball IQ haven’t yet completely caught up with his physical gifts to translate into consistently making the right play at the right time. I hope he continues developing and is a big contributor for us this year, but I do think raw is an apt description from what I’ve read about him.

I remember the one from the corner in the LSU comeback game ... I believe either tied the game or gave us the lead.

Ok. I’ll prepare properly. Who said that’s what it’s going to take anyway. Read the post first instead of putting words in peoples mouths. If getting those two wouldn’t get you excited about the season, I don’t know what to tell you. Also, The rest of my life isn’t going to be too much longer so I think I’ll be fine.
