Fixed. Thanks for the proofreading. :joy:

But RU lots are better.

Everyone was friendly though, including the police.

Not sure by what objective measure you can say that our tailgating scene is better than Penn State's other than its smaller so you don't have to walk as far to get to the stadium. PSU is one of the best tailgating scenes in the country as very few campuses have the amount of parking that they do. The number of RV's is unbelievable and these people have serious investments in tailgating.
I love tailgating at Rutgers and think we stack up against anyone but its hard to say we exceed an atmosphere like PSU.

As far as police presence I did not notice the kind of overbearing presence that the MCSO provides at RU. As far as students, there is no designated lot but I do not think they are prohibited from buying parking passes. My son's experience was that they would tailgate with the families of friends since so many of his friends were PSU legacy's.

Knew one of the closet State Penn fans would stop by to shout the OP down.

There is no bigger a Rutgers fan than BigLou. I'm missing the shout part.

Lou's post was just a good example of "keeping it real". No need to pretend like the OP does... our tailgate scene speaks for itself.
And it’s also his opinion. Which isn’t the same.

I’m sure those of our fans that have traveled around the B1G will say something similar to the OP’s post and also what @BigLou said too.

How 'bout you kiss my ***.

I was out there cheering on Rutgers, wearing Rutgers gear from the moment I left my house on Friday afternoon, all around State College on Friday Saturday and Sunday; until I got home on Sunday evening. Oh and I left State College early enough to go to yesterday's basketball game on the way home.

Very small Rutgers turnout for this one, much smaller than 2 years ago. Hope you enjoyed the warmth of your couch on Saturday.

The OP is entitled to his opinion of course and fact is, I enjoy my Rutgers tailgate more than at any road game, but as I said, objectively it's pretty hard to say RU has a better tailgating scene.

Absolutely. They pack them in at Penn State. Very uncomfortable place to watch a game. Not only do they give you less room on the belacher, the leg room is significantly less than at Rutgers.Only place worse is Notre Dame

Been to both ND and Michigan, and I'd say they're pretty equal in terms of lack of spacing and leg room. Haven't been to PSU yet though.

Well that settles it then, once and for all.

Tell your daughters friend that RU fans are much obliged for the guidance.

Yeah I was surprised at the tailgate scene this weekend - first time there and it was their homecoming, I expected more. BUT, that RV lot is huge and very impressive.

Our stadium and the campus around it make it very easy and comfortable for tailgating. We are very, very lucky with our setup

My resident Alabama fan at work said the same thing about Neyland Stadium at Tennessee. They pack them in so much your knees are resting on someone’s back. There are rumors to reduce the capacity so that it is more comfortable.

Actually friend of mine from works whose daughter goes to Clemson....left out she is also an RU grad...she was not impressed with PSU that's all. 1st time there and has been to Clemson twice this year. Her direct words Clemson much more fun and much better atmosphere and said RU does more fun things than PSU. The ONLY thiing they do at PSU is the We r chant. Seats r tiny

Yea I kind of expected more RU fans. It was kind of cool that your got to bring about 8 or so fans (I guess from your band?) with instruments into the stadium.

The atmosphere for the game was bad, pre-game stuff was out of sync. and there was just zero energy in the crowd. Despite the outcome hope you had a good time.

Yea seat width is not very wide, although Michy's stadium is worse but you are absolutely right about the leg room. I'm 6'3" and I'm constantly apologizing to the person in front of me, who's got my knees in their spine.

I've heard about that rumor too at Tennessee. Then they hired Butch Davis and surprisingly there is much more room in the bleachers. Now that they fired him their hope is that the seat crowding gets really bad there again.

This was my third PSU game and I can say that I was incredibly impressed with the tailgating scene, it's much like Rutgers except on a much much larger scale...their RV lots are insane...looks like a luxury trailer park...but i saw one lot that must have had 100 RVs bunched together and that was just one of many lots around the stadium...it was very festive even with the cold weather...I enjoyed it...

I’ve been to 3 tailgates there before and have never felt wow! It’s fun, but it’s pretty much the same as Rutgers except it’s bigger obviously.

Best tailgate scene I’ve ever been to was OSU. Really felt like you were at a show.

I won't weigh in on the PSU debate, as I have been constantly reminded by my PSU alumni fiends that everything is much better than anywhere else in Happy Valley. But, as for seat width, Nebraska really packs them in too. There is only room for about one cheek on their bleacher seats. ;)

psu RV lots are pretty impressive. Those RVs are decked out with everything & you buy your own spot for the year. I was rather unimpressed with the rest of the Tailgating that I saw when I went 2 years ago. I frankly thought the tailgate our group of 22 set up was better than anything around where we tailgated.
Michigan RV lot at the HS is pretty impressive as well.
RU tailgates are WAY better than any tailgate I saw at Nebraska or tOSU and was told the same by their fans that visited.
