I don't see a problem here. With as many of these whining, weasel maggots as we have out there trying to destroy football, this is a step in the right direction, at least when it comes to practices, which are repeated hits, many times over vs. a game.

Are you trying to make a statement or something? They are called guardian caps and it should be standard for all teams to wear in practice. 4 of the top 5 teams in the country are using them this fall. Prioritizing player safety during practice is not soft, it's smart. Kinda like wearing earplugs on the gun range.

Agree. If these really do provide superior protection, I can't think of any reason not to wear them for practice. And really, the only reason not to for games is they look ridiculous and ugly, which isn't a very good reason at all if you think about it.

First time I've seen them. They look like nerf helmets. If they are superior to regular helmets why not use them in games? I just thought the photo was funny and didn't mean to insult y'all with it. Is this becoming Gene's page?

No, I don't pay attention to practice helmets. I do pay attention to scrimmages though. Last time I went to a practice at State Dan Mullen was the coach and we weren't using those helmets. Anyway, if they work then I'm all for using them in games. It would be great if someone could develop a contraption that would protect necks without affecting turning your head. Glad we have a practice expert on the board to keep people like me in line since I'm foolish on the subject.
