Our valiant guvna really seems like he doesn't have a handle on things and with hospitalizations going up with our already poor healthcare system, and rural hospital decline, as well as not testing many individuals. This could be a storm, and if he says people can pack churches on Easter the fallout from this will be devastating.

If he's been reading the messages my wife (and many others) have been sending him he may resign. The Republican party should be ashamed for ever letting him get to this position. The ONLY thing he has going for him is that he's not a damn Democrat. Yes I know...pathetic.

Rolling the dice on herd immunity. This guy has to walk around with his balls in a wheelbarrow. 17 what those mayors say, this ain't China!
I hope the fallout from all this will maybe make him change his mind, but I know he won't. I just look at other places and states and think about how on Earth he thinks that this is a good idea, but we shall see.

It's really scaring me about church gatherings, one of if not the most church going state in the Union with tons of elderly that could be exposed and that would be awful. Especially on Easter and if they listen to Tate he will be responsible for all of it.

And an even more somber note the State only tested 70 people today.

I really hope the good folks in the state of MS understand to not go to church without the govt explicitly telling them this. Prayer does not prevent the virus from spreading. Stay home, people.

That’s either incorrect or irrelevant. It’s not correct that there were online 70 people tested in the state. if MSDH only tested 70 people, without knowing the total number tested and whether there was a lack of tests available, I’m not sure that tells you anything.

No way we should’ve elected this guy as Gov. He looks and “sometimes” acts like a young teenager. I voted for Waller and wished he’d won. If he had about another $1MM to use he may have pulled it off...

According to Covid Tracking, which is what ABC News uses. The state had 69 tested results today, maybe I should have been more specific they 100% tested more than 70 but only have the results from 69 of them, and 57/69 were positive.

Sure, he is responsible for it and all.
How are the people not responsible for it though too? Anyone who iant aware of what the 17 is going on is either off the grid or plugged into conspiracy **** so deep that no elected official will convince them.

Also, why would churches choose to meet? If nothing has changed from now until then, why would any churches be open for biz on that day?! Just hold Easter services over the internet or on tv and call it a day.

You can blame just the gov for the potential fallout, but individuals and churches certainlyndobt need to blindly follow what he says(or doesnt say). They could follow what actual trained disease folk say.

Sometimes, who you choose to listen to is your own fault.

I know of several churches that had services last Sunday and plan on having them again this Sunday. They are bragging about it on Facebook.

Sunday 33 to 117 today, it's a disturbing trend, in the grand scheme of things.

Holy crap. A 31% hospitalization rate means the other numbers being reported are way worse than what’s out there. The average has been around 11%. TN is about 6% right now. If 31% is correct, it’s much, much more widespread than is being tested.

If 57 of 69 were positive tests, they are only testing people they think definitely have it.

In 4-6 weeks, it’s going to be rough. Small communities with few resources are going to be overwhelmed.

Like I’ve said in other places, everything is okay with this until it defiantly is not. The acceleration of manageable to disaster is very, very fast.

Those weren't tested today. Just sayin. Got a friend who's kids were tested. Took 10 days for results. Our health dept. is a damn joke.

So once again more FAKE NEWS!
How is what I said fake news? I'm not citing any reports other than hospitalization rate and our healthcare system. As well as the possibility of mass death from church gatherings that really is concerning the hell out of me.

Lots of people on this board are going to be looking very foolish soon. It would kinda be funny, except their attitude is going to get people killed.

That's nuts. Services are being held here...by way of internet streaming.
50-2000 people gathering closely in one place for 1-4 hours at a time and interacting with one another is basically the total opposite of what's supposed to be happening.

These are small churches in unincorporated areas out in the county. If 60 people regularly attend maybe 20 would even have the knowledge to access an internet stream as the membership skews quite old. In one case the preacher is 80 years old and has probably never been on the internet in his life. Most of the people are of the opinion that if they get sick and die from going to church then it was God's plan and they are fine with that.

I’m gonna say this, as someone that is not a fan of Tate. He literally has one of the most punchable faces in history behind Ben Garrett. It’s an unenviable situation. You want to make sure your state is safe, but you can’t shut everything down because ultimately the economy is on your watch. I just wish he had my mantra of, Man, I’m just here to party!

According to a family member they works at a hospital in north and Some hospitalizations are from people coming from Arkansas and Tennessee so those numbers are inflated by them.

Would you mind clarifying your statement? Are you referring to people ignoring the risks?
