You're assuming the BIG will allow their teams to play in bowl games.have to think any southern state bowl game would love to have husker nation in attendance.

great point! You're assuming the BIG will allow their teams to play in bowl games.
If only that was always true. There are guys that practice perfect then **** the bed in a game. Likewise there are guys that don't practice perfect, but play lights out.
Not saying we aren't practicing like we should, but perfect practice is no guarantee to perfect games.
I hear ya. I just struggle using the word perfect. No different that your thoughts on no guarantees. If you are looking for guaranteed in this life, good luck finding them. I guess paying taxes and dieing come as close as any.
Perfect practice is obviously a relative term. You have to create the expectations and teaching examples that make it all work. Some look good in the raw but exposed by the rigors of a demanding situation, they can often fall short in anything.
Our guys make the same mistakes over and over. The question is why? Are they dumb? Bad players? Weak? Too many people look for the quick fix - another year of S&C gotta do it. Maybe not
I think it's not completely all on the QB. IF you look at the past 2 games and really most of our losses last year, it was penalties and turnovers that killed us. Yes AM's inaccuracy cost us points on open pass plays but ultimately the stat where we've scored ZERO TDs on drives where we've incurred a penalty is very telling. PENALTIES AND TURNOVERS. AM is only at most half of the problemIn the first two years, there was a problem transitioning to the type of talent needed for most positions. Understandable. But in the third year, it's definitely now down to the QB position. Although Frost has his handpicked QB and Adrian fits for running the ball he's not the needed fast blinker or an accurate passer. We've learned this was a recruiting misfire.
Protect the defense from the offense giving the ball back to the opponent so quickly? Not encouraging to hearIn the paper this morning Frost basically said he's been playing slower on purpose to protect the defense. Since the defense has been playing well he's considering speeding up. Has nothing to do with what AM wants to do, the Coach decides how fast they go. I agree it looks like LM seems to process faster.
I'll agree that penalties are a big problem. Not as big as Adrian's passing though IMO. And I think the penalties in part stem from the team struggling too hard because Adrian can't make the pass plays they need to open up the offense.I think it's not completely all on the QB. In some cases it's a chicken or the egg question. We incur a penalty and end up in 2nd or 3rd and long. We struggle in long down and distance passing situations. Due to penalties we seem to end up in way too many of those deals and that in turn affects our ability to complete passes. Like most teams, your passing success tends to increase quite a bit where the defense thinks you are likely to run the ball.I'll agree that penalties are a big problem. Not as big as Adrian's passing though IMO. And I think the penalties in part stem from the team struggling too hard because Adrian can't make the pass plays they need to open up the offense.
We have been one of the worst teams in college football going on 4 years...we don't need to justify a loss by saying the other team is decent. Most of our losses over the last 4 years have been to average teams. Our wins...against FCS or bottom dwellers. That is grossest part. We have no upsets, no games where we look amazing or things are really clicking. We beat Illinois, Maryland and then struggle against everyone else. We have been bad, we are currently really bad, and it is not looking good for us to get much better. Frost had a small window, he struck out in every way...he has lost every close game that could give us momentum, has lost a ton of recruits to attrition and even starters to transfer. I think it time to unhook the ego from the huskers. They're a good team. I know, from the outside it looks bad but they are a top 25 team.
Do you really not know the difference between "then" and "than"? Your Florida education is failing you. This has nothing to do with the AAC. You can't compare conferences. If you want to than you also have to compare the amount of money and resources you get from your conference. It's all D1 football and its all about W and L's.
At UCF Frost ran the same system he just was blessed with having a very good QB and a ultra fast RB that could bounce one to the outside and was gone. Until he can get the same speed that offense won't work especially in cold weather.
You left out blown blocking assignments.I think it's not completely all on the QB. While I agree with what you're saying, those runs are never going to be a consistent 4-7 yards if we have zero downfield threat to keep the defense honest (and out of the box).

I guess TO doing exactly that for 25 years was just a fluke??
TO’s teams didn’t shoot themselves in the foot either. They also had a killer instinct and got what they wanted.
The head coach called a QB keeper on 3rd and 11......that’s the freaking problem.
Holy cow you have to be jokingI cant stand coaches that do the "15 scripted plays" to start a game. Dumbest thing ever in my opinion. Especially when you coach a team with zero confidence. Lets say your 3rd olay of the game is a 3rd and 25 due to penalties and you still gonna run your QB draw just because its in your script?
Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, and Oklahoma State all had their good years in the Big Eight. They were nowhere near as bad as you are suggesting. They just looked that way because we were incredibly good for a long period of time and usually had no problems with them even if they were ranked.T.O's teams performed in a period of incredible inequality in college football. The big 8 had two good teams for many years...Kansas, Kansas State, Colorado, Iowa state were some of the worst teams in the entire sport year after year. We didn't play Texas and Texas A@M, nor Iowa. We often had one big non-con...and sometimes lost...to Florida State for example...and we played Oklahoma and lost a lot. The money available to the big 8 was tiny, and sports technology was in its infancy. And even the use of performance enhancing drugs was relegated to the best teams because why would a Kansas DT risk his life to go 0-10? T.O was on the verge of being fired in 92...his recruiting classes were embarrassing and people were calling for a change because he was 0-8 in his previous bowl games...which were sometimes the 2nd decent team he had played all year. The 93-97 spurt coincided with a huge explosion of success in the big 8...and funneling of talent to the central plains but also probation and a weakening in the SEC and the deep south. We aren't copying T.O and his success needs context...he wasn't an Alabama dynasty that has literally wrecked the best league for a decade.

Let’s not forget our swing passes on third and long and slant patterns to Wyatt Liewer.
It likely won’t matter who is at QB. Frost has surrounded them with mediocre talent and when in doubt, throw a swing pass. Offensive genius at work here.

Sounds like you should be our next head coach. You'd think Scotty would be trying to land a man on the moon. It's a football game. Win the Fvcking game!! I dont get why we say these things every Monday and Tuesday. This man is getting paid a salary of a fortune 500 CEO....figure it out!
