UCLA will go either 0-12 or 1-11, depending on whether they can beat Northwestern on the road next week.
I did most of my growing up in Missouri after moving from Nebraska at age 5 so I didn’t get nearly as much Huskers coverage as I wanted growing up. I had an uncle who would come down and visit every other year and drop off vhs tapes of Nebraska games. One of the games that had the best picture quality (and therefore one that I watched frequently to learn players better) was a victory against UCLA. The “keys to the game” or whatever they called it specifically listed the goal of “Foil Foster” and they certainly achieved that goal. Every time I see their coach it makes me think of that tape.
I will always remember the uCLA coach informing us all that UCLA was in Southern California
I had to Google that to make sure it was true.

Oregon at Northwestern seems like an odd choice for today’s opening game on FOX. Any reason to think this game isn’t over by halftime?
NW will do all the can to muck it up, that is for sure.
My guess is Oregon might take the first half to wake up???
Can’t stand Alabama, but it’s still fun watching them completely destroy Wisconsin.
Northwestern does look less putrid than they did against Tulane. Still not much of a contest, but not as lopsided as I thought it would be.
They have a good coach. I wonder if NW will get stupid and can him. But he can stay there a very long time and make them a 6 win team.

Wisconsin is an arrogant fanbase in ALL sports! I wonder where all the big mouth Wisconsin fans are now that talked all the **** when Nebraska first joined? Programs have down periods but their fans said it could never happen to them. smh
I am shocked that they still win BB games.
But their FB program is done. They made a horrible hire (which everyone knew) and they have zero NIL.
I agree that Fickell is a bust for them and if they would have hired their DC (Leonhard) they would have been more successful. They were a solid team before and they can certainly be solid again with the right hire. For now, I will enjoy the sorrow of an arrogant fan base!
They will never be "solid" again, unless you mean a team that can get 6-7 wins a year.
I don't think most people realize how ******* bad they were until about 1993. They were a joke.
They are going back to that.
If they never get back to respectable, I would be totally ok with that. Looking at their schedule this year and it’s brutal. I see two-three more wins (at most). I don’t think they will make a bowl for a second straight year. Again, that would be fantastic. Their fans and the media that used to gush all over Wisconsin can stick it!
It was definitely a warning sign. If you can’t get organized enough to communicate a message on behalf of your team it’s unlikely you will be able to put a plan together to build a program.
Now 56-0 at half. We may look back and realize that was high quality win to start the season.
