Bert vs Frosty headlines this week’s slate. Remember that this game was scheduled for Dublin. Now it’s in Champaign. ESPN likes Bert’s Bees today. Gonna be very hot today. Who is in better condition?

Alcorn St, alma mater of Steve McNair, visits NC Central.

The rest will be played west of the Great Divide. Hawaii at UCLA could be a show.

They’re better off with Williams at QB and running options than Sitkowski, who stood out even at Rutgers for being terrible

Just checked. The game being played in the Rose Bowl starts at 3:30 PM E.T. on ESPN.

Even though UCLA is favored by 17.5, Hawaii had the better record last year at 5-4 with UCLA 3-4.

Just tuned in to see 6-2 and I LOLed. Saw Martinez get near the red zone, and overthrow open guys, one of whom was a TD. Tough throws, but his "touch" passes are abysmal. Big arm but no throttle.

Nebraska is so undisciplined. Roughing the passer AND taunting turns an interception into 25 yds and a first down for the Illini.

I feel like the refs are trying to reign in Nebraska's D. I'm not saying that they don't deserve it but they were playing free and loose lots of questionable hits and two body slams on the QB.
Gotta be 100 degrees on the field. who do they play next week? could be hard to recover.

If I’m Illinois, I keep running to keep that defense out in the heat. Use play action, and try to run a lot of plays. Use the heat to your advantage.

No kidding. Taking the lead just before half on such a hot day is huge. If Illinois can take care of business for a while in the third quarter, Nebraska is going to feel a lot of quit.

Hard to execute if the OL can’t stop anyone and Sitkowski is in at QB

Adrian Martinez is the best Mighty Nebraska has? Missing wide open receivers all day. No throwing the ball away but taking the sack. I hope he plays like this when we play them.

Illinois scores a TD, and Fox puts up a graphic that says Nebraska Cornhuskers touchdown & and the on-screen score is updated to give the points to Nebby.

Shades of Gus "Touchdown Wisconsin" Johnson.

Martinez has missed a clear touchdown and probably another one just before the fumble. If they can just not commit catastrophic errors, they will win and cover. But anyone who’s watched the Frost era knows how big an if that is

Yeah, I thought we caught a break last year when they were toying with McCaffrey. Maybe not.

I expect Martinez is going to light up somebody this year. Hope it's not us.

What's the threshold for Frost getting canned immediately? 20+ point loss? 30+ points?

Pretty embarrassing with all eyes of the college football world watching this game.

He is too much of a home town hero to fire after one game. Part of their trouble is Martinez had a good first year was anointed and hasn't improved.
