Should have put it on the coast...
Somewhere between Vicksburg and Jackson would have been the best location. Big thread about this months back. Farthest away from all other SEC towns, and could have helped those two towns thrive. Just imagine if they had been forward thinking right at the beginning of Reconstruction.

Now, we are essentially dependent on big alumni bases in West TN, Huntsville and Birmingham (in addition to Memphis and Jackson) to fill up our stadium on the regular. Little too far from Nashville or the Coast.

I was halfway joking but, yeah, I thought about that after I posted. Still, somewhere Jackson or thereabouts might have worked out better in the long run, but really no way of knowing all that on a train ride in 1878.

Why were they not progressive thinking enough to think about multi million dollar SEC football and where the major metropolitan centers would be in 145 years in 1878? Should have been right outside Memphis or New Orleans.
