Had many over the years:
Staying at the old Dunes Casino in Las Vegas, saw many of the 76ers who were also staying there. This was when Charles Barkley was drafted. Funny seeing him sitting at the two dollar blackjack table. Julius Erving and Marc Ivaroni were sitting at a separate unlimited blackjack table. Saw the two of them later outside, both nice guys, actually stopped and talked to us few a little. Saw Moses Malone, lets just say not a fan of his after seeing him.
Met Thomas Hearns at a club in NYC, talked to him for a few, really great guy.
Saw Marvin Hagler in Caesars Palace parking lot. Was walking with my friends, I saw him drive past us, I said out loud, hey that was Marvin Hagler, he heard me, stopped his old caddy, put it in reverse and pulled up to us. Talked with us for a few minutes, class act.
Was in the crowd at the Hearns vs. Hagler fight. Someone sitting behind us had binoculars. He said who is the girl sitting with the number 3 under her seat ring side. He handed me the binoculars, I looked and said, that's Bo Derek, everyone reached to grab the binoculars. This was 1985.
Saw a drunk Don Rickles walking thru Caesars Palace late at night making fun of everyone he saw, was hilarious. His handlers were trying everything to control him.
Saw Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver in Caesars, dressed to the nines. Noticed her first, she looked good that night.
Saw Holly Robinson in NYC window shopping. This was just after she was in 21 Jump Street. Smiled and waved, pretty girl.
Was punched in the arm by George Foreman. I was walking towards him, I was wearing a Minnesota Vikings hat. He said Vikings, and sent a jab my way, knocked me back about 5 feet. We laughed, talked to him for a while. Finally I said, listen George I got to go, he would have talked all day, really nice guy.
Might be a few others I cannot think of right now. but the funniest was one that didn't happen to me. It happened to a friends father. His father worked in NYC. He was going into a building using a revolving door. When is got in the door, someone gets on behind him and starts pushing really hard and fast. The door goes too fast for him to get out. Finally after a full rotation, the door slows down and he gets out. The guy behind him gets out also, and as he reaches for his own tie, he says, hey I can never figure out these doors, its Rodney Dangerfield.
Edit: Saw Dave Attell writing jokes on the hood of a car before an appearance on Tough Crowd. As Colin Quinn stumbled down the street towards the show, obviously had a few before the gig.
Just recalled, saw Marisa Tomei while she was filming The Wrestler. She walked past me in the bar, smiled. Little girl, very pretty.
Saw Tom Cruise while he was filming War of the Worlds. Came over to the barricades and talked, posed for pictures, held babies for pictures for everyone in the line. Was nice to everyone. Shook his hand.
