I agree with you in that case. I'm talking about people dropping stuff right in the middle of residential streets more and more these days. It's awful. I wouldn't call it an epidemic yet, just a general laziness, sloppiness and lack of consideration that has become a little too common. I'm not calling for re-running those Pollution Indian ads just yet. Yet.

That would be “Native American,” Pete...:eyes:

I would say littering was a helluva lot worse when we were kids. I remember stuff all over the sides of 33, 130, 1, NJTP, etc, until maybe the mid-to-Late 80’s??

I just dont get drivers who think they are Jeff Gordon and weaving in and out.

Is there an app so surrounding drivers can call to action? lol

And the COPS hopefully put them in jail, ban the license and much more.

In LA or Turnpike...bikes and cars weaving like crazy and families stuck.

I don't drive in the left lane except to pass. If someone does this, I move over. BUT, it's not my opinion, it's fact. Driving 100 miles per hour is a far graver and stupider offense than lollygagging in the left lane.

Keep right, pass left only.

If everybody did that, the US would be a better place.

For once, I find myself agreeing with @LevaosLectures .

Generally agree with keep right, pass left.

That said, if there is a flow of traffic at 75-80 mph in the left lane, don't be a douchebag and come up behind the last car in the train and start tailgating and flashing your lights to pass. Calm the f**k down and slow down. Most people are driving 20-40 miles on their daily commute--is saving 2 to 4 minutes that important to you that you have to commandeer the left lane and irritate the **** out of everyone who does not drive as fast as you want to drive?

Go with the flow.

Tailgating is stupid at any speed so I do not do it ever. I am more calm driving on the highway than just about any other time these days.

As to the rest of what you said, no. Hell no.

Around town, I creep around slowly, often under the posted speed limit. Because no matter what one drives or how good a driver one is, or how alert one is, a kid can run out from behind a tree or parked car at any time, along with dozens of other totally unpredictable things. There is no safe way to drive fast on local streets.

But on trips on highways, I generally save way more than 2-4 minutes. I am not slowing down because you think 80 is a reasonable speed. I will, very calmly, pass you and, if necessary, weave my way around you if you are hanging out in the left lane regardless of your chosen speed. It’s quite rare for people to pass me on the highway, but I still am considerate of those few people who might wish to drive faster than I and I never camp out in the left lane.

You can have your opinion about what speed other people should limit themselves to. But you cannot actually control what other people do. So all you are doing is increasing the danger that might be posed by faster drivers. That much you DO have control over.

My son hates anyone driving blue BMW's. Yeah, I know, seems kind of random to me too.

I hate when healthy people who use spots reserved for the handicapped. I also hate people who park illegally (especially at my grocery store) just because they are too frickin lazy to walk fifty feet.
Also, how hard is it to return your grocery cart to the damn cart return area? You get a few extra steps in your day AND it has the added benefit of not making you an utter douchebag.

What grinds my gears is people standing on line at Starbucks or a take-out restaurant who are buried in their phones or conversations and wait until it's their turn to order before they look up at the menu and sigh because they have no idea what they want yet. And then they play 20 questions with the cashier about what they can mix or match from the various menu options, or about the origin of the organic free-range coffee beans. If you're at Starbucks or some chain you've been to dozens of times before, how do you not already have in mind some idea(s) about what you want?

You completely missed my point. Rush hour traffic. Line of cars more than a mile long in left lane is going 75-80. Don't crow bar yourself in front of me so you can get to work or home 2 minutes quicker. Go with the flow.
Non rush hour, less traffic, I agree. People need to get the hell out of the left lane and let the speeders pass.

I really hate that and so would have Andy Rooney. There are things that really get to me on a golf course. It's supposed to be relaxing but only works while viewing, not participating. People are so inconsiderate of my pace of play. I need a left lane.

Yes, if there is simply nowhere to go because of near stop and go volume, then there's just no point in doing anything but sticking to a single lane (in my case, I generally stick to the right lane which tends to maintain a more steady, if slow, speed, easing the wear on my clutch and the fatigue on my left leg).

But, generally speaking, even in most rush hour traffic where there's no appreciable slow-down, on all the highways I've driven, there is a repeating pattern whereby cars tend to cluster together with relatively uncrowded space between the clusters. Generally speaking, these clusters always appear to be caused by cars driving too slowly in the left lane(s). So I have learned that if I quickly weave my way through a cluster, I can then drive more quickly until I encounter another cluster.

That wouldn't be necessary if the car at the front of the clump didn't remain in the left lane and if people generally moved right except when passing.

I hate one someone is buying 50 items in the grocery store and begins to take out their money/credit card AFTER the cashier tells them what the bill is. Like it's a shock they actually have to pay. Be ready to hand over your payment as soon as the cashier rings up the last item you prick.

How about the person w a full cart of items who goes thru the self checkout lane at the food store or Walmart?

That raises my dander.

That is an easy fix. Once they fall a hole behind, walk through their group (or pass them by cart) and wait on the next tee until they approach, than tee off. They won't have the balls to complain. If they do then its open season to rip them a new one. Most starters upon explaination will allow you back to the hole you skipped to complete your round.

Not an all-inclusive list:

I hate it when people have to use the rear window of their cars as a tombstone (In Memory of PopPop 1/12/39-4/20/16). No one driving behind you cares about your deceased love ones. If you need a constant reminder, you should be able to read the decal in your rear view mirror, not the person behind you.

I hate "left-lane richards", but there is plenty on that topic in this thread.

I hate it when people see a car pulled over by an LEO and slow down (if not in the right lane). To me that is the time to exceed the speed limit (at a safe speed) in the center and left lanes.

I hate stick families in all their forms, except for the "no one cares about your stick family" stick family. The guy driving the minivan with a stick family is showing the only times he's ever had sex with his wife.

I hate fanboyism/tribalism in all its forms.

I hate cliches. Can we come up with a better point-finisher than "at the end of the day"? We are supposed to be an advanced civilization, right?

I hate it that it took decades for cars in the US market to come with built-in cupholders.

I hate that recruits are called "studs".

I hate it when the people who demand that sports fans and athletes act with class, don't put that same demand on the President.

I hate going to any store that has 10 cash registers and only has two open. Which pretty much means I hate going in any big chain store. I just don't get it. Even during the holidays it's not like they're using 10 registers, yet they have them for some reason.

Why? Is there a part of the country I'm not privy to where they have all 10 registers open? Do they only have one set of blueprints which are never updated when they build these stores? Is it a psychological ploy that I'll buy more because they have more registers?

I've done this and hate it. Sometimes the guilty group are many holes ahead. Put a huge driving-range net down the center of the fairways. Slow players play to the right, fast players to the left.

You've obviously never driven on I-285 -"The Perimeter" around Atlanta where everyone drives like it's the back stretch at Daytona. The only place you'll see more weaving is a State Penn basket weaving class.

Oh yeah, I hate drivers doing 15 miles under the limit on their cellphones, no matter what lane they're in.

People who drive right on your a** on roads that you cannot pass or when there is no chance to pass. I’m not a slow driver, but when I’m already over the speed limit a decent amount and I know the cops in the area will pull you over in a second, I’m not speeding up for some a**hole, so slow down and stop driving like a d*ck.

Exactly. You tell them what you plan to do and they stop you. If you don't use your turn signal they don't know what you're going to do and they can't stop you. :)
