Sport, Burlesque or Vaudeville?
I was going to ask you if you wanted to check it out on PPV, but I looked at the matches and I literally only recognized a few names. Is the WWE all watered down now?I’d rather watch the NJPW/ROH super show from yesterday.

Just got back. I thought show was good not great. A few great moments and a lot of other basic stuff.MetLife Stadium has been hosting WWE 35th Wrestlemania tonight and they have been shooting off fireworks periodically all night. It's 12:25 a.m. and they just shot off another round. I don't care because I like fireworks but there's going to be an awful lot of groggy, ticked off commuters going into the city later this morning!
WWE still has the best talent but the writing is not good. I haven't watched it regularly since the attitude era but I keep up with it online.I was going to ask you if you wanted to check it out on PPV, but I looked at the matches and I literally only recognized a few names. She should be more worried about the boyfriend then the 800 just sayingMy friend spent $800 each for tickets..I thought it was insane. Her boyfriend is a huge fan so she said it was worth it.
Don’t watch any other wrestling. Am a causal MMA fan. Outcomes are pre determined but the athleticism is real.Just curious , how many of you that follow “Professional Wrestling “ actually watch real wrestling,eg, Rutgers Wrestling, Olympic and International (freestyle & Roman Greco) and even High School ( HS and college are Folk style)?
Are all the outcomes of Professional a Wrestling match predetermined?
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not knocking it , I even watched a lot as a teen, and it’s hysterical and entertaining, but stopped following it many years ago .

He's young not even 30. lol He grew up watching, so I guess she wanted to surprise him with tix. I did too, but I'm talking Hulk Hogan days. :weary:She should be more worried about the boyfriend then the 800 just saying

NJ Transit apparently put the figure four on patrons trying to leave via the train.
I heard nj transit was a big time disaster
Doing the same things they did during the Super Bowl.

I watch NJPW because of the action and the fact that it's not storyline driven beyond the basic idea of wrestling for titles. I watch it every week on ASX tv channel. It's awesome. I would have loved to go to the Garden but it sold out in minutes months ago.

All the storylines are heavily scripted, along with all interviews shown on TV. Nothing is spontaneous or off script in the WWE and I feel it comes across as very bland. What do you mean by, "writing"?
You’re friend must be joking with you. Wrestling is no more scripted than any other real sport. All the storylines are heavily scripted, along with all interviews shown on TV. Nothing is spontaneous or off script in the WWE and I feel it comes across as very bland.
I had a friend who worked in the WWE as a writer for a couple of years as an intern and he said it was a thankless job and he hated it.
It was a real good show. I’ll give it a B plus. I thought that the women’s title match and tag title matches were boring and the women’s title match was not worthy of Main Event status. The upset of the night was Hawkins and Ryder winning the tag team titles. The Andre the Giant memorial battle royal was weak. What I will say though is that the best match of the night was Kofi winning the title. It was evenly matched. I enjoyed every minute of the match. Kofi now has won every major title and is the only wrestler in the history of the WWF, WWE to do so. A very close second was the Miz against Shane. Very entertaining even though the Miz should have gotten his revenge.

I used to watch a lot when I was young. Its basically a soap opera where all of the actors are roided up stuntmen performing a choreographed battle that have to look real, so plenty of the hits are real but finessed so they don't injure as badly. There are real injuries, but also plenty of fake ones, and all of them are well-versed athletes that usually come from big-time sports like football, real wrestling, boxing, mma, power lifting, etc. (Good examples being Kurt Angle 2 time Olympic gold medalist, Junior National, NCAA and World champion in real wrestling, Brock Lesnar was the NCAA wrestling champion and later UFC champion, Roman Reigns played DT for Georgia Tech, The Rock played DL next to Warren Sapp at Miami, Mark Henry was the world power lifting champion, Ron Simmons was a superstar DT at Florida State and College Football HOF member)Don’t watch any other wrestling.
