Okay everyone what was the worst serious Christmas gift you've ever received? I'll go first, I got a regifted candle, a pizza slicer, a card game I've never heard of and some cheap cologne in a box.

I received Faux designer clothing that doesn’t fit. I smiled while I held it up against my chest and stated how nice it is.
I’m debating whether I have any interest in seeing the local homeless in Louis Vuitton clothing or if our cats could use it for a blanket.

You should build a shadow box like Costner did for movie costumes and display that. Seriously that is a work of art and labor of love. Do you realize how much talent and work goes in to knitting a sweater like that? That’s a great thoughtful gift even if you’ll never wear it.
I don't know that I've ever gotten anything that bad myself, but I've given plenty of awful Christmas presents. I guess I usually suck at it.
Once year I gave my wife 2 very ornate brass sconces and after she looked at me in horror after pulling one out of the box she looked further and said, " Are there TWO of these in here?!"

My wife knitted me a heavy wool sweater not too long after we were married. It was as so heavy I couldn’t wear a jacket over it and it was way too warm to wear indoors. I wore it once or twice then after about 25 years it went to Goodwill.
Thank goodness my wife cannot sew. We had a few friends over for dinner. I cooked. It was great. Lots of good food, drinks, wine and me with my ever present can of Coors. The stories we shared about our life experiences were the best. I as always had plenty of Nebraska stories to tell. Hope you all had a great Christmas.
Because my wife heard me singing "I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas" I got a small crystal Hippopotamus. 
Not a Christmas present, but once for Mother’s Day, my father-in-law gave my mother-in-law a lawnmower. They later divorced. Pretty apparent why and who was to blame for this one.

My parents always told my younger brother and me that we better not screw-up with our wives because if there was a split, they were taking them over us. Back about 20 years ago my stomach was really giving me pain in the middle of the night and my wife, a nurse, blamed it on me eating junk food, kicked me out of the bedroom and went back to sleep (she really loves her sleep). She must have felt guilty as she came and checked on me early in the morning. Our setter was happy to see me. He jumped on my gut that resulted in me blasting out of bed in pain. My wife then got serious. I had a gangrenous appendix removed later that day. As a result of the operation, I could not mow the lawn. My dad heard my wife tell how she had to go around the neighborhood to get someone to start the mower. A brand-new electric start lawnmower was in our driveway the next day. (My dad is gone, but I still use that lawnmower).

I know this thread is almost dead but I couldn't resist chiming in since the post caught my attention. I think the worst gift I ever received was a pair of slippers that were two sizes too small. I mean, I get it, it's the thought that counts, but it just didn't fit! Everyone has their own experiences with bad gifts, I'm sure, but it's always funny to hear them. I'm sure it's a great reminder to always double-check what you're getting for people! There are so many great online stores that have a great range of gifts for him and her, so you can find something that will be perfect and make your loved one smile. Plus, online stores often have great deals and discounts, so you can find the perfect gift without breaking the bank.

Not one we got but one we gave. My wife decided she was all into Yeti coolers so for Christmas she got Yeti insulated buckets for my BIL and my daughters boyfriend. The buckets were like $40 a piece and completely useless unless you were like an ice fisherman (neither were). She asked my opinion, after she had bought them, and what could I say?
It’s because you’re not on my Christmas list. I’m the worlds worst gift giver and all my presents equally suck. But I refuse to give in to the handing out gift cards as a present thing.
I like gift giving and I agree with you on gift cards and I REFUSE to use a sack. Our family exchanges gifts and we usually have around 40 make it for Christmas dinner. I actually get more enjoyment out of watching people open gifts from me than I do opening my own
I once opened up a package with an obnoxious sweater (aren't they all) and it was the biggest piece of clothing I'd ever seen. Its hard to believe it was a commercial size. Could have gotten two of me in there and I wasn't small.

Lots of guys joke about getting their wife a power tool of sorts...I took one for the team and actually did it. Cordless drill.
It did not go over as I had hoped but her dad thought it was great so eventually it was an experience we lol'd about...took a few years though.
My advice? Don't shop for your S/O at Lowes. You're welcome.
