Fickell: he gone.

Edit: reading the socials, it would appaer their AD Chris McIntosh is getting just a much, if not more grief than Fickell is getting right now. Fickell buyout is $25 million.

Nothing but disaster in Badger land. It'll take a decade for them to recover from this mess. They would've fired Fickell, but I don't think they want to pay his buyout. So they'll have to deal with him, for at least one more year. Not that I mind watching Wisky fall further and further.

They've lost their fan base ("fire Fickell" chants during games).

They are losing out on high school prospects because of the mess in Madison.

It is pretty glorious. I hope they never recover. ;)

Just goes to show, your AD better have a plan & make the right hire.

Paul Chryst's last 3 full, non covid seasons:
2021: 9-4
2019: 10-4
2018: 8-5
.............................
27-13 (.675)
=========

Luke Fickell, so far:
2025: 3-7
2024: 5-7
2023: 7-6
.............................
15-20 (.429)
=========

Some have said that the Chryst termination was less about his record and performance and more about vision for the program and personality conflicts with McIntosh.

Chryst was down after that loss to Illinois at home in 2022, and McIntosh seized the moment to fire Chryst and bring in his own guy. I think too many ADs are control freaks who want to take the credit for the program’s success, and they can't do that with a coach hired by the previous AD.

Wonder how long that AD can hang on. He almost has to go out with Fickell when the time comes
