That sounds like a little more than a garden variety assault--sounds like a fight or a beat down:
Nature: Assault
On January 5th, 2025, at 1830 hours, Officer Tamburro conducted an investigation into an allegation of an assault with a deadly weapon in Lacey Materials. After an extensive investigation, Officer Tamburro charged Thomas Fifield (age 26), of Lakehurst, with three counts of weapons possession, Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault, and Terroristic Threats. Erik Viscito (age 20), of Lanoka Harbor, was charged with Simple Assault. Brandon Santos (age 20), of Beachwood, was charged with Simple Assault and Endangering an Injured Victim. Nicholas Marlowe (age 20), of Forked River, was charged with two counts of Simple Assault and Endangering an Injured Victim. Michael Vanpelt (age 35), of Forked River, was charged with Aggravated Assault. Joseph Kling (age 19), of Waretown, was charged with two counts of Simple Assault and Endangering an Injured Victim. Dylan Spontak (age 18), of Toms River, was charged with Simple Assault and Endangering an Injured Victim. Additionally, a 16-year-old juvenile, of South Toms River, was charged with Aggravated Assault and Weapons Possession. Each offender was charged on a complaint summons and released with a future court date.
Every police report makes every fight sound like the battle of the bulge. It may have been bad but they always overcharge.

Overcharge? They got a complaint summons. Can't get much lower than that. I'm sure the victim was real happy that none of these guys spent a second in jail.
A guy I knew got caught up in one of those once. He had a little too much to drink and got into a verbal altercation with two guys who beat the crap out of him. He got charged with some BS "assault" charge, and his charges were dismissed. It's easier for the police to just charge everyone and let court sort it out, I guess, and that is some type of deterrent for people to behave peacefully.
Another thing we don’t deal with here is the privatization part of the folks who actually do the job.
As a Finance member of an IMT I’ve been in the room when people show up unannounced or ordered/requested with their stuff (fuel, water, equipment, etc.) and expect to be paid NOW.
Was more commenting on Knight Shift "That sounds like a little more than a garden variety assault". The amount of charges and the severity/scary sounding of the names of the charges are almost always out of line with what actually happened.
I dont know where or how the spent fuel is stored, but past history tells me government/authorities will frequently tell the public everything is just peachy until it isn't (or until the truth is uncovered). Take a look at Three Mile Island locals who were assured all was well but were actively being exposed to radiation. And the poor souls who were told/encouraged to return to the Twin Towers after the planes hit? Covid? No big deal here in the US even though people with half a brain were easily predicting the devastation despite what was publically proclaimed. So I guess there is at least two in this crowd.
Those are your issues. Don't trust the government at all.
Covid?? No big deal? The government went overboard with covid regulations including washing your hands 1000X a day and wearing masks even outdoors.
Before you post you should look things up first.
To put your mind at ease the government had nothing to do with the decommissioning as it was owned privately by Exelon.
To put you more at ease the head of the decommissioning is a Rutgers grad who was in charge. Graduated with an engineering degree and spent his entire career in Nuclear Power. Huge Rutgers fan and season ticket holder going back to the crappy Shea years. Exelon sold the entire property to another company as that company will take it on the final step. There are over 200 workers still at the site!

You are great at assuming things, and once again missed the short bus. I never said I dont trust the government at all. I was merely pointing out where assurances were made in the past and went sour. Look things up? LOL. I lived them during covid and reported front line happenings on this very site. Your government "overboard" happened AFTER the US was caught with their pants around their ankles. Fauci downplayed the onslaught as it was beginning, told everybody masks weren't necessary and wouldnt do much at all. Nobody had covid tests. Mask supplies/PPE shriveled up immediately as the supplies evaporated . And people were led to believe everything was going to be just fine, despite the pretty obvious reality it was not going to be. Not sure why you are rambling about the government handing over to Exelon and a Rutgers grad in charge who had football tickets. Did I ever say the government was responsible for TMI? No, I didnt. You missed the short bus again. Anyhow, the point being, safety statements made by government/authorities (and I did use both in my original OP which escaped your eye) arent always as they seem. If you cant realize that, I dont know what to tell you. Peace out. I'm done responding if you are looking to pick one of your usual battles. I can see where you might think that, but as covid was hitting our shores and from what I remember, national government was downplaying the potential spread and minimizing it's the impact to the public. That was from watching daily press conferences. I had some very good, behind the scenes insight even before covid was detected in the US all while we were publically told everything would be ok. The medical community was very aware what was about to happen. Fear mongering is much different than government response. Here's a 100 day timeline I started to read, but like I said, it's Friday and a cold frosty one awaits.
I didn't assume anything. You said you didn't trust the government and said they lie to everyone. I didn't miss anything. You are backing off you previous statement as you gave certain examples and were wrong about your Covid statement. Appreciate you are done responding. Add in stop posting complete nonsense and you wouldn't be called out. I wasn't the only one who called you out on your stupid Covid proclamation! Enjoy the brews.

Why the argument about not trusting our elected dolts? I have never trusted them. Greed, lies, coverups, corruption, etc.
