Or dinner, as city folks call it. Interesting that Mississippi is one of the very latest; wonder why?

This has near about caused divorce in my household. I prefer closer to 7. Wife prefers 5. Compromise is obviously 6. But with kid activities, you almost have to do 5 in order for them to have some energy for whatever they have going on, or brave it and eat later.

When I eat at 5, I'm in the kitchen again at 10 stuffing my face. Constant battle. First world problems to the maximum.

We eat around 6:30 PM. Mostly because we both get home around 5:40 PM and do a few thing around the house then get started on supper.

I can see that most of the later states have a large blue collar or rural population. Growing up in a rural area most kids had chores after school or work around the property that took priority over meal time.

We both work demanding jobs, so we normally eat near 9:00pm. If we ate out every night we may be able to move that up an hour.
The deadline-driven consultant's lifestyle.

Prefer 5:30 or 6 but because the kids are busy we eat at 7:30 4 nights a week and around 7 the others. I eat lunch closer to 2 so I'm not starving by dinner.

Wife, soon as she can get home and get something together. Me, no earlier than 8:00 could be 9:00-10:00

When I was kid at home, we would eat between 5:45 and 6:15. Now, as a single adult and getting off work at 3:00, it's anywhere between 3:30 and 6:30.

If you want to go out to eat at any of the popular restaurants in Flowood on a Saturday evening, you'd better be there by 5, by 5:30, there's an hour wait.

When we first moved to Jxn almost 30 years ago, and many of the restaurants were actually in the city (Scrooge's, Bravo, etc), folks wouldn't even go out to eat until 8.

Anywhere from 630 to 730 usually. Usually don't get home until 6 prep usually starts immediately and the dinner by 730. After 830 it's just better to eat a snack and go to bed

We try for 8, but most times it’s 9, and sometimes 10.

If we think about putting stuff in croc/ pot in am, we can back up supper time by an hour or so.

We haven’t decided what we having tonight. I’m probably going to go mow yard, and wife is working in her home office. Child is supposedly doing home work and snacking on something now.

First dinner happens around 430.

Dinner is at 7. My store does not close until 6. Since I'm the cook in the house...7 is about as early as I can get.
