I know i'm enjoying these off brand "expert picks" for whiskey bourbon and cognac at Total Wine & More. Can't believe i've never mentioned to this business. My cousin took me to the Cherry Hill store and i lost my mind only to find out the store in Claymont DE which is closer to me is even bigger...

Going with Port Charlotte tonight. My first time having this. Very good, nice and peaty. I like that its 50%

I was disappointed with this: my son Tyler had a bottle of it and we tried it when I was down visiting last week. Too much peat and not enough body. Didn't mind the smoke but I wanted something behind it.

I like the peat but I get what you are saying. I've notice sometimes when a bottle if first opened I wont pick up all the flavors. After it's been open a while and a few drams have been consumed the flavor profile opens up. I had this happen with a bottle of Glenlivet limited release once. When I first opened it, it was just Ok at best. A few weeks later I went back for more and it was much improved.

Ha yeah, I'll bring a dram into the bedroom sometimes and the wife will know I got a peaty one in there. Says it smells like a bonfire.

Going with this one tonight. Not as smoky as an Islay but I like it. Has a more briny taste IMO

Was in Boston on Thursday and Friday for the Eric Church concert. Had to stop at Trillium. Enjoying a porter from them. Very good, you can really pick up the coffee flavor.

Wow, haven't posted in this since August 31st! Damn I've been slacking.

Now I could claim I've given up drinking, but, well, I'd hear the howls of laughter from here.

So tonight I'm enjoying this:



Last night enjoyed a dram of the Macallan 12yo.
