Food/drink:
Fat Mama's Tamales- knock you naked margaritas
Roux 61- seafood/steaks/ oyster bar (alligator cheesecake)
Biscuits and Blues- blues bar serves pretty good food
Magnolia grill- more quiet place, under the hill dining great food (salmon with strawberry and jalapeno reduction)
Cotton Alley Cafe- another more quiet place good variety and good food

If you're into booze there is the Natchez Brewing Company,
Charboneau rum distillery, and the Old South winery located in Natchez. Lots of historical sites. The city cemetery is really cool. Go to the visitors center by the river bridge for info on historical homes, cemetery, etc. They have been very helpful in the past. You can also purchase tickets for a lot of tours there.

I highly recommend going to Longwood antebellum home, was not completed after war outbreak and was going to be one of the grandest mansions on the planet for it's time.

Magnolia Grill is great. Grab a drink at the Under the Hill Saloon. Bars in Natchez don't have to close if you are into late night shenanigans. Shoot me a DM and I can connect you to river view air bnbs or Antebellum B&Bs. Also a good tour guide. There is a Greg Iles book tour as well if you are a fan of his books. The African American museum is good. Smoot's Grocery and Blues Lounge is a cool spot. Fat Mama's of course (State Folks). Longwood, Rosalie, Melrose, Stanton Hall (Carriage House Fried Chicken), Grand Village of the Natchez Indians, Emerald Mound, Mamie's cupboard (great pies), historic walking trail stars along the bluff. Drive by Nellie's, the brothel that operated until the 90s (Amazon documentary Mississippi Madame discusses the life of the Madam Nellie Jackson)

I highly recommend Downtown Carla Brown for the haunted tour. It was interesting - ghosts or not. And I love the cocktails at King's Tavern. The bartender is great and he sometimes teaches a cocktail class on Saturday afternoon and has some great stories, too.

I feel like Natchez is an underrated part of Mississippi. If someone from out of state was just passing through Mississippi and asked me "Whats the 1 town I need to stop in", I would be tempted to say Natchez.

I love Natchez and have been several times.

I loved going to the National Cemetary.. https://www.nps.gov/nr/travel/national_cemeteries/Mississippi/Natchez_National_Cemetery.html

St Mary's Basilica Church well worth the time .... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Mary_Basilica,_Natchez

Natchez in Historic Photographs http://www.city-data.com/articles/Stratton-Chapel-Gallery-Natchez.html

Review of First Presbyterian Church
Reviewed April 22, 2013Plan on spending several hours looking at the wonderful black and white photographs of Henry and Earl Norman depicting the early years of Natchez-- many pictures of steamboats and houses as well as families. The church is also worth the visit-- it was established in 1817 and the current sanctuary was built in 1829. Admission is free, but donations are appreciated.

I loved just sitting out on the park bench of the river side park downtown. Lots of restaurants, some were named but I have never had a bad meal down there.

Under the Hill Saloon was fun.. we played darts in the back room most the night one night.

Roux 61-Grilled oysters
The Camp-Tacos
The Brewery-Jack of The Wood Pizza

The owners of Roux61 just opened a pizza place out by the Hospital.

The Corner Bar is a local spot. Old School.

Magnolia Bar and Grill has pretty good shrimp and grits. Nice view of the river.
Walk the River Walk.

The cemetery is as old. Peaceful place. Make sure you hike up to the high point. There’s a bench up there. Spectacular view

Under the Hill Saloon and The Vue are probably the better views of the river in town.

I live downtown and walk everywhere. The best part of it all is being able to listen to the Basilica bell. I know I’m being a homer but St Mary’s has some of the prettiest masses I’ve ever attended. Make sure you visit the inside.

If you get tipsy, call Rock and Roll taxi and be careful walking.

Also, yes, go visit Fat Mammas Tamales. The owner is a good friend and fellow dawg. Fire and Ice pickles with a Gringo Pie is fire
