Because me and @e5fdny want a separate thread.

Looks like rain slush for most of NJ. Northwest, maybe more.

I was supposed to stay overnight in Elmira,NY and drive home on Wednesday, but it's looking like there will be quite a bit of snow in the Poconos and further west/north.

I don't care about 2 threads on weather (could be 5 for all I care - I'm talking weather in about 5 places right now as it is), but I have a serious question for you two. If the purported reason for a separate thread for a new event is that the thread will be shorter and easier to scroll through from a phone, doesn't the fact that this new thread is already 2 pages negate that advantage? The thread I started is only about a page longer - and any very active weather thread, even a "new" one will easily get to 5+ pages for a big storm in a day.

Anyway, below is what I just posted in the other thread. This could be your bedtime reading, lol.

My skepticism on this one may be confirmed, as nearly every model at 00Z tonight (7 pm EST model initialization time) has cut back on snowfall pretty much across the board with the HRRR short-range mesoscale model going so far as to forecast nada from Valley Forge to Trenton to about Perth Amboy (other models still showing 1/2" to 1" for those locations). At this point, I could see little to no snow/sleet/freezing rain at all from Philly to Sayreville, maybe 1/2" to 1" from Trenton to NYC (which is why I've been thinking 1" for my house in Metuchen, as these snow to rain southwest flow events often underperform for our area) and nearby areas to I-95.

I could also see only locations like the Poconos, Sussex, Northern Warren, Western Passaic and Orange/Putnam (the areas currently with warnings for 4-7" of snow) even getting more than 3" of snow/sleet, plus some freezing rain and probably some rain, too, with the areas between the warning areas and I-95 getting 1-3" of snow/sleet, a touch of freezing rain and then rain. Will be interesting to see if the NWS drops the advisories for counties in South Jersey and along I-95 up to NYC (which are in place largely for the risk of a glaze of ice, not for snowfall, as those locations typically require 2-3" snow for an advisory) and reduces the warnings well to the NW to advisories.

This thread is only 2 pages due to an immature mod. That was over the top.

Personally I love your weather threads but they are difficult to read when they become too long. I usually just go to the last page and read up.

I'm supposed to fly to Nebraska on Wednesday night to explore the area for a bit before the MBB game on Saturday. How delayed will my flight be? (Too bad the Eagles parade is Thursday because I was banking on it being Tuesday or Wednesday and I wanted to party with my close friends again.)
Check your flight. Lots of cancellations:

Newark Liberty topped the list with more 200 cancellations. That accounted for close to 15% of Wednesday’s entire schedule. Boston had about 175 cancellations, accounting for a similar percentage of its flight schedule.

Shouldn't a mod be more mature and set an example of how we all should behave on the boards? :)

That thread sucks.

I like this thread because in Numbers thread...if you check out and go back to the beginning in what he was talking was going to happen in this pattern..it all basically failed...it wasnt all that cold and all the so called potential for snow fizzled..best we got was todays minor mixed bag for a few hours for most....thats really is a swift kick in the nuts

You crack me up. Numbers has not participated in this thread to a great extent. Looking forward to his rebuttal (in 10 words or less).. Suggestion: Bac, you ignorant slut. . . .

And FYI, total bust in central NJ. Just a tiny bit of nuisance slush and mostly rain.

Actually, the NWS forecast was close to spot on, i.e., no forecast bust at all. However, my thread on the cold/snowy pattern was a bust as I just posted about in my thread on that. You're also minimizing the impact of the snow/sleet/freezing rain that fell in much of CNJ (certainly north of the Raritan and for much of Somerset and Hunterdon; Monmouth and southern Middlesex/Somerset did get off a bit easier).
