OT-Weather upon return to NE

For the folks on here that have lived outside of NE for quite a while and then returned.
I'm contemplating relocating back to Eastern NE.
Recently retired.

Haven't lived in Ne since around 1990 and the past 20 years have lived in a very mild weather zone.

For peeps that have experienced this the question that I have is. How would you express your reaction, adaption, and tolerance to NE Winter and Summer?

I love Nebraska people and the Falls and Springs here. So we leave 12/26 to Florida until mid March. Then get out to Colorado and Michigan for a couple weeks during the heat of summer. Works for me after living in Texas and Florida

Right now the state is in a drought, the winters are tolerable the summer can be a trying because of the humidity, a lot more corn growing here than 20 years ago which brings more humidity. As a lifelong resident the freaking wind is the biggest pain

There’s got to be 1000 places better than eastern Nebraska to retire to
