OT:Was TTB in Brandon last nite?

I was at Brandon. Great show. Socially distanced seating.
Notes:
1. They didn't have their full band-- no horns/brass and only one harmony vocalist (Mike Mattison).
2. No opener. No special guests last night. Two sets, a break, and an encore. Show lasted a little over two and a half hours-- really close to 2:45.
3. The merch table has shirts and posters (some signed) and the posters are just for the shows last night, tonight, and Friday up in Huntsville.
4. Get used to paying for concert beer again and loving it.

Was wondering if it would be in the von Braun Center music hall or arena (both inside), but it 's at the 3rd Rock Stage (outside). The new amphitheater will be ready next spring - looking forward to it.
First set was awesome! This pod system sux! I totally forgot how good Derek is! And his sweet wife for that matter! Very good show
I've seen them about 10 times total over the years (Best show was New Year's Eve in Jacksonville at the Florida Theater). They are one of my FAVORITE bands of all time. But they can have an off night. I saw them in Red Rocks a few years back and Grace Potter and the Nocturnals opened up and BLEW THE CROWD AWAY! She had everyone on their feet. Then TTB came after and they were honestly...not good. I was so disappointed that I'd gone all the way to Colorado to see them and Grace and their show was so bad. I think Susan was frustrated with the sound and kept shaking her head. I'm guessing her monitors were bad or something but it was NOT GOOD. Hate I missed last night's show.
Not having a full band can really be a let down too. My wife and I saw Grace Potter by herself in New Orleans without her band and it was very mediocre. That was my 6th time to see her.
Anyone going to see Styx/Collective Soul Sunday night? I'll be checking my phone for baseball score and then watch it (if we win) when I get home.
Why was it socially distanced? Red Rocks is back wide open here in CO. I would think MS would have already been there?

I'm a little surprised as well especially since it was outdoors. I was at a cool festival a few weeks ago (also outdoors) and people were much more closer together than they were at Brandon.

Possible reasons for social distancing-
- because Tate hates music and wants to limit happiness.
- because social distancing is the new normal and a way to control us, according to some doomsdayers over the last year.

Nope. I bought my tickets to that show the first day they were on sale. Ticketmaster had seats distanced.

The amphitheater FAQ states that "socially distanced seating" only applies if the event is classified as "socially distanced." So, it's not the amphitheater that makes that call. And it's not the governor making that call. That call is made by the promoter or the acts themselves. I looked at the STYX information and didn't see anything about "socially distanced."
I suspect this is the right answer. Springsteen is doing another run of shows on Broadway in a ~2500 seat theater - not socially distanced but all ticketholders have to show proof of vaccine or a very recent negative test.
Yep, the act or the promoter made that call. It was advertised as a socially distanced "fireside" concert from the start. Styx this Sunday and everything afterward is full house seating.

'50 gonna 50' is from a reunion trip probably 15 years ago where we said it as a dismissive acceptance of something we found to be odd/goofy/antiquated about the state and was a reference to 'Manny being Manny'. Its surprising how applicable its been thru the years.

I figure the venue sets up social distanced events based on what each show wants. Some acts might want fewer people due to...a glaring statistic.

We can fill the Dude at full capacity and set records but only a limited number for a concert in Brandon.

Maybe whoever manages their bookings chose the socially distanced option and the band had no idea there was a choice.
Maybe the venue, at the time of booking, was pushing one option since pandemic numbers were higher in prior months.

Your and idiot, Tate has nothing to do with the Amphitheater socially distancing patrons. MS shut down to the minimal amount possible and was one of the first to completely reopen.
