I remember this happening on Christmas Eve about 20 years ago. There was black ice all over 287 driving home from my parents Cars we’re going 5-10 MPH and still flying off the road into the woods. TAlk about white knuckle driving
Usually its unseasonably warm around Christmas.
This is the first year jn ages that it got into the teens (a subzero cold snap isn't unusual in Jan/Feb)
Once temps are under 20 weird things happen
Compressors on construction sites malfunction, car batteries die etc
Its like summer when heat gets around 100f and there will be broken down cars on the road.
I stay off the road if I can because even if my stuff is sorted other people can have the problems and bog you down
I think in the really harsh, cold weather the cars/trucks use different batteries - those rounded cell jobs
