I have a friend who is a UMass alum. He told me there is already talk in Amherst about running the table and winning the MAC. If that were to happen, they would likely get the G5 spot in the CFP. How funny would that be if the team that ruined our season on day one and were the final nail in the coffin for GS, wound up in the CFP (and likely get their doors blown off in their first game).

As of now Boise has the inside track for the G6 bid.

The G6 rep also doesn’t have to be a conf champ, just the highest ranked G6 team.

Boise played Oregon close and beat Memphis and WMU pretty soundly so through 4 weeks that’s a good resume’ The rest of the season has to play out of course.

The one I’m curious about in the MAC is a named I’ve mentioned a few times here, Mike Jacobs in year 1 at Toledo. He’s won a lot but want to see how he does now that he’s stepped up into the FBS.

They will not get a CFP incite even if 12-0 as they will have e beaten nobody so they likely won’t be the highest ranked G6 (adding new crappy P12) team

Boise is in the PAC12 now so as of now the PAC has the inside track.

I’d say the PAC12, MWC, AAC and Sun Belt are probably on fairly equal footing for the G6 most years. The MAC is likely a step below most years so they would need a bunch of help in things going their way to leap over the other 4.

Again….UMass has played one of THE worst schedules nationally, FBS and FCS COMBINED, so far this season.

it would definitely fit in the Rutgers story for sure

funny, all the bs talk by many on how many coaches we'd get fired this year only to watching the clock on when Greg is canned

The best thing for UMass would be for us to get our act together and win 4-5 games. We would be the best win any of those teams have all year.
