It didn't seem like they were that far apart despite the rhetoric. I think it was understood that the engineers were long overdue for an appropriate raise, but destroying the budget for years to come wasn't an option. Just be satisfied you heard first and shared it before anyone else did.
When you claim to have predicted something , make sure you are not passing along what you heard because that's not what made Nostradamus a legend.

So everything is back to normal. Excellent.
My daughter tried to get on her usual train at 7:26 this morning and it was cxl due to equipment issue. Had to take the 7:45 instead and she is still sitting at Secaucus as we speak. We are definitely back to normal. I’m on the 8:48 and will be suffering through the same.
NJT blows. Even in the best situation, it is still old, dirty, and breaks down all the time. Gotta feel bad for those that need to rely on it for their living.
Signals and equipment issues are usually a smokescreen for something else like workers calling out . But sometimes there are signals and equipment issues!
I work in JC (Newport) and for the first time in a while drove to Tonnelle Ave Light Rail due to the strike yesterday. That was my old back up plan as well. No issues getting in or back to Tonnelle Ave Station later. However the NJT / I-80 commute back home was worse than ever. As bad as NJT is, I am glad to commute via train. I would go nuts if I had to drive in that every day. Way too many cars on the roads now.
This thread has made me realize how lucky I am to have an easy stress-free commute by car that doesn’t involve being anywhere near the city.
