Throwing a basketball at a player is not the crime of the century that should get you disbarred for life. Haven't you ever seen Hoosiers? I was also hoping Rowan or Monmouth would give Bannon a second chance. These are two good coaches who love the game and showed a little bad judgment that was blown out of proportion.
Said this when it all went down--the throwing basketballs was not the issue. The racial slurs and making fun of player names and accents were the real problems

Fordham really has nothing to lose by hiring Mike Rice

Does anyone even care about Fordham basketball ? They jumped the shark 40 years ago. Rose Hill Gymnasium is equivalent to the College Avenue Barn. They are out of business but just don't know it yet.

Maybe for the A-10.

They should be in the Patriot for everything.

we finally agree on something..they have no business being in the Atlantic 10. The potential is not even there whereas you can use an argument like RU in the Big 10 and we know what RU brings in football. Did the A10 really think that Fordham was going to capture part of the NYC market.

Not only that but IMO they "fit" so much better in the Patriot.

Yes.
RU fans never wanted Pecora. Stop spinning.
LOL!! A one word post is spinning huh???

Methinks you read too much into things.

And you're wrong btw, as noted there people who mentioned Pecora as a candidate.
I wouldn't call it spinning either, not sure what that means in this context really but I don't remember a big clamoring for him in any our previous coaching searches to be honest. When you get this many people on a board, I'm sure you'll get a bunch of names thrown out of who people prefer but I don't recall a strong consensus for him like say a Narduzzi was on the football board a year or so ago when Flood was rumored to be out.

Considering the amount of talent in this area, I don't think it is a stretch for Fordham to have a decent program, but as we know, easier said than done...

This looks like a really nice hire for Fordham, a 44 year old with plenty of head coaching experience and about 8 years as an assistant under Beilein.

Now just go back to the Patriot for all sports and they might have something there.

A10 as a whole is just blah IMO.

I agree, they were in a good place in the Patriot - never should have left.
