Mahomes had at least 5 incompletions that were more impressive than any completion Brady made all night.

If you swapped Mahomes for Brady before the game, who wins and by how much? In case you didn’t watch, the Bucs got 38 pressures on Mahomes (38!!!). The Chiefs got 5 pressures on Brady. Brady must be really good at blocking!

The answer is Brady gets sacked 10 times because he can’t run for his life like Mahomes does, and Mahomes would’ve carved up that Chiefs defense with all day to throw thanks to the Bucs o-line. I’m going 49-3 final score.

By the way, Tom Brady has now won two consecutive Super Bowls where his defense held the opponent to zero touchdowns. He must be really good at defense.

He’s pretty special, above criticism at this point but,

This isn’t the same NFL of the 70’s and 80’s, or even the 90’s. The games been watered down.

The guy has never had to experience the hits or abuse that guys like Montana and Elway had to go through. Nowadays you can’t even hardly touch the QB.

The game isn’t as tough when you’re surrounded by a protection bubble.

He wouldn’t even be able to physically play anymore at his age if he had to experience what those guys went through.

So let’s be honest and compare apples to apples. He’s pretty good alright, but he’s not winning all these games if he had to go through getting body slammed every Sunday.

JMHO

I get what your saying and there is a grain of truth to it but I wouldn't go that far.

Tell it to Mahomes, who was running for his life and got crunched last night. I'd bet he'd laugh incrediously.

Part of Brady's success is his ability to get rid of the ball and pocket awareness. He's been to 10 now over a number of years. He has to get some credit.

Brady's decision to go to TB. was brilliant. He had a few choices and sized up that organization as his best best shot, making yet another in a long line of great choices that leads to success.

Why do you avoid the question? Do you think the Chiefs would’ve won if they swapped?

Obviously it’s a hypothetical, but when discussing what individual players are the best in a team sport, it’s all you can do. And the best question to ask is what happens if players had to deal with the others’ external factors.

Avoiding the question because you know the answer.

I’m happy today. I love Tom Brady as a person and think he’s a great QB. I love seeing Suh and David get rings. I’m also able to separate that feeling from my opinion that Mahomes is a better QB than Brady was at any point in his career.

I’ll answer your idiotic question. Yes, if they switch places then Mahomes would win, but it would be much closer. Do they also switch coaches ? Reid was outclassed quite a bit.

Brady has the ability to quickly go through his progressions .. he would burn Tampa if they continued to blitz the way they did. Tom wouldn’t lock on to just his TE and Tyreek. He’d find other players to get the ball to.

I figured you would’ve actually watched the game when your own team was playing.

Tampa blitzed on only 5 out of Mahomes’ 52 drop backs. All that pressure came purely from a four-man rush. Tom Brady wouldn’t have carved up a defense with 7 in coverage and no time to throw because no QB could do that... especially against Tampa’s great coverage LBs and solid secondary.

Ok king Douche. Tampa would of blitzed more if they were going against Tom. This is why your question is so dumb. Dumb question from a dumb poster.

Tom is the GOAT.. get over it.

Struck a nerve?

No DC outside of Kevin Cosgrove would blitz when they’re getting immediate pressure every play with a four man rush.

I think people who were arguing against Brady's greatness before the game are making a conscience decision to go down with the ship, and if I learned anything from Titanic, all that gets you is dead.

Maybe, maybe not. I don’t know. It’s hypothetical.. all you have are hypotheticals.
Correct. That’s all you can do when discussing who the better player is in a team sport. It’d be pretty boring if we just had to agree that an individual player is the best because his teams won the most. Siri could do that for me.

We agree on something lol.

Do you happen to go to the Husker watch site in Tampa btw? I was down there for the Penn State game this year. Seemed like a fun place.

I used to go when it was at a hotel bar.. can’t remember the name. Always a good turnout.

Sooooo rigged RollingLaugh

And has been since before Brady entered the league. Aside from laughable officiating, opposing QBs always seem to tuck it in against him. My biggest bet of the year was last night for the Bucs, also called Brady throwing 3 or more TDs and being MVP. You all can think of that what you want, I’m going to keep making money. Did it last year too, same method.

No just the opposite. I like Tom Brady. I think he's an okay guy, smart and a good leader. But you make some good arguments that are being overlooked by many. The Bucs matched up much better against the Chiefs. There are at least 15 NFL quarterbacks who could have lined up under center and beaten them last night. It's more accurate to say he didn't lose the game then he won it.

So both Aaron Rogers AND Mahomes took a dive for Brady? Sweet theory.

I don’t think he would of gotten the context had I used Michael.

You have a strange obsession little man.
Not obsessed at all. At least not as much as you are with Tom.
The whole "GOAT" discussion is kinda stupid. Can't compare players from different eras. Who cares anyway?

I think if Tom Brady was on the Chiefs with their offensive line issues, Tom would have checked into more quick passing plays to offset the speed rush. Some people hate him because they say he is a master of the dink and dunk plays, but that would have been better than trying to run intermediate to deep plays and having to run for your life every play.

I know everyone is sick of Tom Brady always winning, but he finds a way to do it.

I'm always concerned when I read things like this when i'm out driving and I realize they give real licenses to people who believe this stuff....and let 'em vote.

I know what ya mean, I lead such a crazy stupid life. Starting my own successful business from the ground up and owning rental property and all, at a relatively young age. Just poor decisions all around from people like me...Like I said, you do you boo boo, I’m gonna keep profiting, no need to name call. That’s how this stuff gets locked, because of petulance. Winking

I mean, it is pretty simple.

No fan brags about having the QB with the best arm...they brag about having the QB that wins "the big game".

I do not think dink and dunk would’ve worked. As I noted in another comment, the Bucs weren’t blitzing. Dink and dunk with Lavonte, Devin White, and their secondary draped all over the skill players would’ve resulted in two yard gains.

As incredible as it is that his teams have won seven titles, they’ve also been eliminated 13 times. The guy doesn’t figure out how to win no matter the circumstances, because of course nobody does. There’s no QB in the history of the game that would’ve overcome what Mahomes was forced to go up against last night.

Being athletic and running around and *almost* making amazing plays when you are down by three scores doesn’t make you a great QB. If it did, Taylor Martinez would be the goat.

The chiefs were discombobulated top to bottom. That comes down to leadership. Which QB rallied his guys? Which QB looked lost out there? If KC’s offensive line was so bad, how did they go 15-1 and win so easy in AFC title game. How did they beat TB earlier in the season?

Brady made the plays to win and Mahomes didn’t. First QB to have three touchdowns and 80+% completions in a super bowl. Brady has a great supporting cast, sure, but it’s only great because he is playing there! Tampa doesn’t get gronk, fornette, or AB without Brady. They had missed the playoffs every year since 2007.

The first super bowl against the rams? Sure maybe some luck but he lead them down the field to win. The more recent super bowl against the rams? Yes the defense played great, but so did the Rams’ defense with suh and Aaron donald.

Brady already has as many NFC championships as Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, and Matt Ryan and those guys have had decades in the NFC with good to great supporting casts and they’ve managed one each. He also has more Super Bowl wins than any franchise.

You were on here when the playoffs started saying it was embarrassing TB went 11-5. Well, it worked out.

I’ll give you credit though... at least you aren’t saying that Mahomes and Rodgers lost on purpose like another poster.

KC’s line was decimated this time around. Both tackles out. One was hurt mid game against Buffalo. KC was fortunate that they had built a big enough lead before it happened, and that Buffalo’s D isn’t as good as Tampa’s.

Your only criteria for evaluating a QB is whether or not they won the game. If they lost, it’s just because of bad leadership from the QB? Did Tom Brady forget how to lead during the 13 seasons in which he didn’t win a Super Bowl? Mahomes knew how to lead last year but suddenly forgot this year?
