OT: Tivimate/IPTV vs. Youtubetv

I’m ditching DIRECTV and was planning to switch to youtubetv but a guy that i was talking to said to get Tivimate. I googled it and learned that it is something called IPTV. Keep in mind, I’m old so I need to have it explained to me like I’m a 6 year old. It sounds crazy that I can get 4200+ channels and premiums for $15 a month.

What is the skinny on this thing and is it worth fooling with?

I have Breaking Cable for 15 a month and can watch literally anything. HBO NFL premium MLB premium 115 porn channels local news in Viet Nam. It's ridiculous. Lot to dig thru tho.

Odds are, if it sounds too good to be true, it is. I ditched DTV last year and went with You Tube TV and honestly haven’t missed anything. My second choice was HULU. We have Prime Video because the Mrs already had a Prime account and it’s included. I actually watch FreeVee on occasion.

Tivimate is just the "player". It looks alot like the DTV lay out. You can pay a lifetime fee (cheap) and put it on 5 devices.

You can also set up Tivimate to dvr. You do have to set up your device (like a firestick). But that's not hard to do. And if you have it on multiple devices they can all access the DVR content. This is easy to set up.

Another nice feature is the favorites tab. You can send each channel you actually watch to the favorites tab. Once you place all the channels you watch, you can organize them in any order you want. In alphabetical order, order of importance to you.

IF you are about to stream all your content, then you need to make sure your internet has the speed and that you have unlimited data. Alot of companies give you 1.5 terabytes, but that won't be enough if you have multiple tvs all streaming. Most companies allow you to upgrade to unlimited. Mine cost me $5 extra per month. Well worth it. Speed.... you will need it. To stream 4k content, it takes about 45-50 Mbps. Multiply that for every tv that will be streaming at the same time. Not all content is 4K. But making sure you your speed/bandwidth can handle it in 4k gives you room to spare.

It's basically pirating content if you are watching anything that is copyrighted etc. Lots of free crap out there, but sports and traditional cable stuff is never free or cheap. Nobody is giving licensed content away like this. It's the current version of the jailbreak satellite TV card or HBO/Skinemax cable filter.

My take is even if shìt is overpriced (like cable/streaming) I decide to pay for it or don't consume... Never steal. But I try to stay at a minimum just above the peice of shìt line on the integrity meter... Currently at barely tolerable àsshole.

IPTV did you say? Run away, don't walk. Search "IPTV Lawsuit" "IPTV fines" or something similar and you will see why you're better off at a regular streaming site
