Walking behind the ball is ok. Walking behind the ball to tramp down the grass behind your ball is not.
This coming from someone who has spent a lot of time in the rough.

- Growing or attached natural object (e.g., grass, plants)
Understood, but there was no way that grass wasn't already trampled on just to find that ball. There were multiple volunteers looking for it. A warning would have been sufficient.
You've never seen a golfer not walk behind his ball? It happens all the time when guys are near hazards, in the bushes, near a tree, etc. Players are really good about taking the least invasive path and not pushing back bushes/branches/long grass to avoid improving their lie. This instance was an outlier, not the norm for a professional golfer.
Rules are rules on the two strokes though. Some golfers can be very strict/finicky/anal following them. I remember playing at Bershire Valley and a complete stranger walk on who joined group was riding me that I grounded the club in a bunker. After telling him I didnt, he couldnt let it go.
Not when a player was in a situation like this…it’s not normal for a player to back into bushes, branches, high rough, etc to improve their lie/position. Most guys are very careful in these instances.
Never seen it. Even with the professional players that I've played with. Part of their process.

I'd take that bet. I play twice a week at one of two private clubs I belong to, neither of which you have the money or ability to join or the contacts to ever get on.

For about 10 years I played about 4 rounds a week from April through November and I'd play 1-2 rounds a week, weather depending in the winter, so maybe 160 rounds a year, so a lot but certainly not 183 in 5 months. Then our son was born and my free time decreased, as usually happens in that event, so I only played 1-2 rounds a week for most of the next 20 years. I've rarely played the last 5-6 years (maybe 5x a year), since I got back into disc golf - I simply enjoy disc golf more.
You'd lose that bet even though I don't play much anymore, since I used to play 4x a week for about 10 years and 1-2 x a week for 20 years, and iirc you didn't pick the game up until 10-15 years ago, so you're way behind as of now. Perhaps you'll catch up someday if you stay in the good graces of your wife and the in-laws who fund you.
I had offers to join several clubs, as I played a bunch back in the day with friends who were members, as I've discussed many times on this board over the years. Just wasn't that interested, as I liked playing all over NJ/EPA/SENY and still got in plenty of rounds at clubs with friends.
Also, you're the only one who seems obsessed with money, which is not surprising for such a shallow, narcissistic moron, who spends all his time on this board posting gibberish. I retired at 57 with plenty of $$ - more than most, but less than some - but more than enough to continue living a rich full life until the gig is up.
My brother used to play 260+ rounds per year in NJ before retiring to Maine. Walking, but 4 knee replacements later he maybe does 10-20 now.
My own business spins off more in a quarter than you ever made in a year in your entire life. Probably 2 or 3x.

Yea, I've been playing for 10 years. Shot 76 yesterday with essentially one arm. You've never come close to that in your life. Even in jorts on a frisbee course.

Your business, lol. I was a 7-handicap for many years. Best round was a 73 with many rounds of 76 or better, although that's irrelevant to the claim you made about having played more rounds than I have. 10 years at 2 rounds a week is way less than my 10 years at 4 rounds a week, just for starters.

This is entertaining. Two guys bickering over more rounds of golf/year than most play in a lifetime. And one of the two ridiculing the other for very comfortably retiring at 57. Lots of dvck swinging going on in these parts.

They aren't for everyone. That's why they are private. Any real private club would put you through a very lengthy process. Most don't make it.
