I'm pretty pumped. A vendor just invited me the Thursday round and it will be my first time. Anything I must be sure to see?
All of it really, it's Disney World for golfers & fans, everything is perfect. One thing most aren't prepared for is that It's extremely hilly so you will be tired from walking the course, TV doesn't do it justice.
imo, Amen Corner is a must, get a pimento and cheese sandwich for $5. Walk the entire course for full effect.

I'd take a fishing pole and some soft plastics. Should be peak largemouth spawn in early April. I think you could whacky rig up a pumpkin colored trick worm and tear em up at the pond on the 16th.

Pro tip: Get a chicken sandwich and a pimento cheese sandwich. Scrape the pimento cheese onto the chicken. You're welcome.

Bonus: Grab some on your way out and if the place you're staying has a kitchen/kitchenette make a pimento grilled cheese chicken sandwich.

I'm seeing several of you demonstrating a distaste for pimento cheese. It's a fairly simple dish with just a few ingredients: shredded cheese, pimentos, mayonnaise, maybe some chopped onions, and various seasonings.

What don't you like about it?

(I'm just curious. I'm not trying to "get" anybody.)

If you, or anyone, puts onions in my pimento cheese we're fighting. What kind of communist nonsense is this?

Yes, that's right. When I make pimento cheese at home, I have some grated red onion in it. I got the recipe from "Southern Living" magazine, I think . . . and it's delicious (in my opinion).

(edited to indicate the onion is grated, not chopped; and, to add the recipe)

Basic Pimiento Cheese Recipe
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups mayonnaise
1 (4-oz.) jar diced pimiento, drained
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. finely grated onion
1/4 tsp. ground red pepper
1 (8-oz.) block extra-sharp Cheddar cheese, finely shredded
1 (8-oz.) block sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded

Stir together first 5 ingredients in a large bowl; then, stir in shredded cheese. Store in refrigerator up to 1 week. (Cut the recipe in half, unless you're feeding 7-8 hungry people.)

That all sounds great except that one ingredient.

Egg salad at the masters has a funky taste. I'll make my own, and I prefer it as egg and olive.

Get in line at the South Gate if you want to drop a chair at 16 or 12, get there around 5/530AM. Then go to the North Gate shop, line will be long, but pretty efficient. Walk the course as much as you want, find a few groups you want to follow. If it's a marquis group, get 2-3 holes ahead. Get your picture in front of the club house.

12 is a great place to sit. 11 green, 12, concessions and bathroom are right behind you.

I was fortunate to be able to go about 8 times for Sa - Sun rounds. We found the best thing to do is get to entrance really early, be one of the first in line. We always had a Masters chair, they are small with no arms, but if you don't have one yet, bring a chair like that. As soon as gate opens, walk as fast as possible without running to the 18th green and put your chair down on the front row. Then, relax and walk to gift shop or find food. Or go to your next favorite spot. In the mornings, it's good to find a tee box because it's about as close as you will get to the players. Around lunch time, go get some food and walk to the hill below the 6th tee box and eat while the pros tee off on the par 3 over your head. You can also watch the 16th green from there. After that, go to the chair on 18 and watch them come in.

Pay particular attention to the slope of the greens. TV does not do them justice.
