Be the first one at gate. Hit up gift shop first, ship it fed ex, and get it out of the way for the day. Go put chairs down somewhere to come back to rest. Then just walk. Very hilly. There is something to see every hole.

We usually post up behind 8 Tee box. Its kinda in middle of course and can get around to see a lot of holes. It is also close to concession and bathrooms. Use apple watches to communicate with friends.

Best sporting event ever. It is just so well run. We have been every year since 2019 (except covid obviously). I'll be there Tuesday thru Thursday this year. See you there!

I have no love for golf, but because I grew up in Augusta, worked as a trash banana boy in HS, & now live here again...

If this is your first trip definitely walk the course & enjoy it. Landscape Art is how I like to describe it.

P.S. Don't ask the Pinkerton security about a fight in the bunkers on 6 after the players moved through circa '98.

I was told that if you put your ear to the ground in the back nine, you can still hear Greg Norman sobbing.

I went last year for the first time. It was the most wonderful experience of my life in sports.

Bring a chair with no arms. You can buy one (and I would later in the day) first thing in the morning, but that line is LONG and the good spots will be taken. I suggest that you walk your chair to number 2 behind the green or 70 yards from 13, where the players have to lay up in front of Rey’s creek or go for the green. Put your name on the back of your chair, put it down, and walk the course. No one will touch or move your chair.

The course is perfect. Concessions are cheap. Bathrooms are every where and it’s super clean. Walk with some player groups, but go to your chair when the ‘big boys’ play thru. It’s a tough course to walk in some places, especially walking up 18 or 9.

Good places to watch are in the bleachers. They are open to any patron. Augusta National doesn’t have special sections for the well-heeled like most tournaments.

Unpopular opinion: pimento cheese might be the most disgusting food ever made. Fight me.
The food at the masters is way overrated. Everyone raves because its dirt cheap.

If you want swag, may be best to try the shop at the other end of the course and not the one by the main gate (unless you there at 400 am- yes.)

Lastly, come see me in store. Heh. Im out in evans. Itll get you out of the crazy.

Beers are cheap too. But don’t get drunk. Just enjoy the day. 16 tee box stands. See all of 16, green of 15, tee box of 17. Lots of good golf. Fills up early. Get souvenirs. They aren’t crazy high either.

I'm pretty pumped. A vendor just invited me the Thursday round and it will be my first time. Anything I must be sure to see?
The very first time you see that grass, if you're like me, you almost wont believe its real. Go eat at T Bones if you are staying overnight. Worth the wait... it will blow your mind how hilly it is too. TV doesn't do it justice

Good for you and guess what's right down Washington Rd?

Most over hyped event in sports .... until you experience it. It's everything you've heard about and then some. Simply incredible and for all of the "pretentiousness", it's anything but during the tournament as long as you behave yourself. (good call on the cell phone, just leave it behind)

Not sure there's anything to "see" in particular but my routine -
- get there early and walk the course 1 to 18 just to square up what you've been watching on TV in 2D with 3D (it's some how even better). Along the way get an egg salad sandwich for 'breakfast" and drink of your choice (beer for me)
- turn around and walk it 18 to 1 to see it coming into the hole and begin to watch some players come through. Pick up a pimento cheese for "lunch" along the way.
- from there you know the course, where the best spots are, eats and bathrooms and have at it. I never got a "spot" just wandered to various holes and groups for 8+ hours. Those yeast rolls and butter will never taste better .... if you can get in.
Here's hoping the weather is good for you. Make sure you give us a report when you get back.

Side story, I was standing on the hill right side of #10 and looked to my right to see Tubby Smith (in his heyday). No suites so the "famous" have to hang with the commoners.

Ever tried home made?
Mrs Bite makes a good homemade pimento and cheese. She puts a little horseradish sauce in it to give it a little kick. Pimento and cheese is good melted on a cheeseburger as well. She tried it with a grated Edam cheese ball once, it wasn’t great. Mainly the consistency of the cheese just doesn’t work.
