So now we are OK with someone with COVID not being locked away in their bedroom. Itās OK for them to be out as long as they wear a mask? No more need for them to be quarantined for weeks?
I did because there was one at the house and curiosity got the better of me. Positive. Mild flu, basically.
I do the anal swab test at least once a week to make sure Iām in the clear

Lots of cancer patients wear masks to protect from all kinds of stuff. It doesnāt have to be just Covid.
I am good with that...my point was more on the comment on they may have COVID and trying not to spread.
Honestly if someone wants to wear a mask, a speedo, pajamas in public, or whatever else...I do not give a ****...bothers me little

The place my wife works at just required everyone to mask up again for the next two weeks. They finally stopped wearing masks in February & this is the 2nd time since then that theyāve had to do the two week mask upā¦

Honest answer:
It depends
Some companies still have ārequestedā, as opposed to the formerly ārequiredā, protocols. Duke Energy being one of those.
Since, in my organization, there are many over 60 years of age, as well as a significant number whose immune systems are reduced/compromised, it is agreed upon practice to stay home if not feeling well and to home test for Covid (or lab test, your choice). Since everyone is a hybrid worker (50% work from home, 50% in office) I can allow working from home during this time. T is also expected (notārequiredā) that if you know you have been exposed that you work from home for five days and test to ensure you do not become positive.
We (my group and myself) consider this to be a āconsideration for my fellow workersā rather than a āburdenā.
Vaccination is encouraged but completely a personal choice for each individual to make.
Feel free to make light of the severity of risk that Covid presents today but be aware that there are many for whom the risk is greater than for you.
Given my personal experience, I know that I NEVER want to have Covid again.
My feelings regarding Covid
You are right I donāt know everyoneās situation but I certainly can express my opinion. Iāve traveled extensively internationally for the past 15 years and prior to Covid there were very few people ever wearing a mask outside. Anywhere, much less in the US.
I mean, LabCorp and Quest did roughly 90% of the PCR test throughout Covid. Sure, some small companies invested, but I think you're overstating this quite a bit. LabCorp and Quest literally are the market. If they merged, which they won't, it would immediately get blocked as an antitrust issue.
Iāve had 3 Moderna shots
- 2 confirmed cases of COVID between the 2nd and 3rd and after.
- 2nd case of Bells Palsy (the other 23 years ago) that was vax induced.
I donāt wish any ill on anyone and certainly no perversion of science from a political perspective. Cause that would make you an idiot, like really an idiot.
There are no absolutes in science. There are ALWAYS outliers and iterations and time to learn from. My experience happens to be a mathematical outlier. People ask me that bothers me? No, only thing that bothers me are devout followers unwilling to search for the truth. I wouldnāt change a thing.
But any devout Vaxxer or anti Vaxxer are complete fools especially when taking guidance from a politician, a church or even āAā handful of scientists.
Do GLOBAL research and make smart decisions. COVID like anything else is not a 1 size fits all.

For someone who is in the business, you sure who act like an idiot sometime. Also, yes the multi rapid test has been around for about a year and a half now. It has a positive box for each so you can tell which illness you have. As far as a diagnostic tool goes, it was a huge leap forward. I don't think people truly understand the quantum leap we had due to all the research and money being invested into Covid research, including, lab technology, treatment, and vaccines.
I agree a multi-test is great...I also agree that the country was over tested and the economy suffered from all the regulations put into place. Both can be OK
But the flu basically disappeared during that time...the numbers prove it

Covid now is much different than than what it was. So yes, I am OK with someone who has covid going outside with a mask.

I had Covid (confirmed with a test). On my last cruise, my wife and I got sick (as did our fixed dinner companions), we didn't bother to test. What difference does it make if you have one virus or another?
I am not diminishing the danger / impact of COVID. People I know died from it. I have a friend who had their taste altered. They can't handle the flavor of most cooked food and have been losing weight (now to a bad level). Just like polio the effects are going to linger or pop up for many. This ****** virus may be like chicken pox and manifest in another form like shingles.

********, the flu didn't disappear and the numbers don't prove it. And on the public decisions that were made, were on the premise it would likely save lives. Many died, but many probably didn't because of those decisions. How do you quantify, if you're a public servant tasked with making these decisions, the worth of some lives vs the discomfort to society? Thankfully you're weren't the one playing god.

She has been coughing for 5 weeks and we went to her third trip to doctor on Thursday and he finally diagnosed her with reflux induce cough from her stomach ulcer. They said they would do a Covid test but must have forgot after her chest x-ray.
I started coughing on Wednesday but thought it was just my sinuses from spending so much time outside. I walked 15 miles on Friday and did a two hour weightlifting session at the YMCA.

I know a bunch of people who got COVID over the last month. Many on a company reward trip in late July. A couple family members had it this weekend. Definitely seems to be going around.
That said, itās a cold now. We donāt test just as Iāve never tested for routine head colds or coughs. We donāt do anything differently. We certainly donāt wear masks. Just as nobody wore masks prior to 2020.
Best treatment and prevention? Good nutrition, maintain a healthy weight, exercise, vitamins, quality sleep, fresh air and sunshine. Same as itās always been.
