Never heard of TCL until we started shopping for a new TV for the bedroom. Anyone have any experiences with that brand in the 50" range?

Thanks

We've had a 48" Roku wireless Smart TV by TCL for almost 3 years now and love it. Had no problems with it and liked it so much we also bought a 32" TCL Roku smart TV for our bedroom last year. I had never heard of them before buying but the Amazon reviews were great. No ragrets here.

My take on new TVs is similar to my take on new guns. Technology and manufacturing processes are so damn good now that you can get a "cheap" tv and be in good shape. I'd go for it.

I bought two about a year ago and I have been quite pleased with the picture and quality

I have a 48" TCL Roku. I got it last year on Amazon Prime Day for like $300. The picture is great. The one issue it has is freezing up from time to time while going back and forth between apps. Overall, it's a solid TV. Does what I want. I don't have cable, so I'm going through the apps pretty much constantly and attribute this to the freezing up. It does not freeze up while watching TV off the antennae. If you're using it hooked up to cable, I suppose it would work a little more smoothly.

Definitely satisfied with it for what I paid for it, but TVs go down in price pretty dramatically. I bought it after researching it pretty carefully, and I found that it was pretty highly rated by some trusted publications.
