She scarffed it down / I asked if she'd like another. She agreed / I decided to order 1 hard shell taco since they have a special on 3 tacos + a drink. I walked up to the manager /tried to place my order, first explaining that we had just bought 1 soft taco / asking if we could just pay the difference for the remaining 2 tacos + drink as part of the 3 taco special.
No brainer right?
Wrong. The server said he couldn't credit the taco just purchased / asked if I'd like to pay for the 3 taco special. I said "NO". Just deduct the purchase price paid from the previous order (I presented a sales receipt)/ he increases the volume of his business.
When he continued to babble about refunding our prior order, I asked for the manager. He then informed me that HE was the manager.
Meanwhile my daughter was trying to hide, or fade into the plastic facade since the line had grown from 2-3 customers to around 10-12.
Finally, taco boy said why not just order deal #3 (3 tacos +drink)/ he'd handle it. I said "OK". I asked how much / he stated $3.99 plus tax =$4.99.
I said "You're wrong" the tax on $4.00 would be about 32 cents. He agrued it was the tax / I owed $4.99. Now the line was around 15-20 patrons.
Frustrated he looked at the line / then barked something out in Spanglish . I asked him how much do I owe (part of the issue was instructing my daugther to DO THE MATH so you know what to expect) and he replied "It's on the house".
The order appeared / there were 3 tacos not 2 as ordered + drink.
My daughter was embarrassed at first but enjoyed another taco, I ate two and the Price Was Right.
Thinking that maybe the Wall Street fiasco might have gone down something like this transaction.

So you delayed 20 people because you can't order correctly and you're making fun of the Taco Bell manager? Really?

Today I was in WA with my fiancée, her daughter (it was her birthday), son in law and granddaughter. In a small town called Longview, I ordered 2 chicken taco's
1 beef- hold the cheese / tomatoes.

The order came/ all tacos were beef. My finacee said "Didn't you order chicken"? But I remembered the infamous Taco Bell affair / the firestorm on the Rutgers board (G'd forbid
I should repeat that episode) so I let it slide. Old dogs CAN learn new tricks.

Thanks for saving / positing this episode: I actually enjoyed rereading it....the rivals thread / this story are part of our family mythology.

FYI: I have 2 daughters (one 35 / one turning 17). The post about month ago was about my g/f who is a child of the 60's. It was a JOKE ( I have an unusal sense of humor) - but try to get over it or just move on. She's actually my Unofficial Financee FOrever (UFFO).

The adoption is on hold till she officially gets her senior citizen discounts!

Regardless, you're missing the point:
1. Know what to expect (mathamatically)
2. Managers can INCREASE business if their not idiots..... Be flexible / fair
3. Stand up for your rights (I could have paid the extra dollar....and the message to my daughther is what: give in/ don't do the math because YOU'RE BRAIN HURTS)

Sorry. not on my watch.

Kaka

It's not your watch. It's not your child. It's not your life....get one of your own / if inclined post your observations. I'm sure we'd all be thrilled to see what you plagiarize / allow on "your watch".

Believe the US Urban Dictionary Constitution clearly states that you lose any and all rights if you make any transaction at Taco Bell, especially if sober and dining in.

Reminds me of a comedian who indicated that Taco Bell doesn't advertise anywhere that it's "food".

But it's delicious!

went to taco bell yesterday. The one on Ryders Lane in East Brunswick. I stood there at the counter waiting a good 5 minutes while they ignored my existence in favor of, I assume, the drive-up customers. Finally said frick it and went next door to wendy's where I was waited on immediately.

So you thought it was fine to inconvenience the 15+ people waiting in line behind you, all so that you could save about a dollar? If I had been stuck in that line, I would have offered you the dollar just to get rid of you (and to make a point of what a cheap d-bag you were).

I was bored. That story has survived for over 7-8 years now.

Think of how much ridicule , angst, disgust , humor (in my case) this even has created.
It has heuristic value...

My god what a tool you are.
And this answers the question: "How big a loser does one have to be to eat at Taco Bell ?"

Like your former signature that quoted Goebbels(?) or some other Nazi that you had a man crush on. Except yours wasn't funny, in bad taste and offensive.

Oh and by the way here's a tip: Temple isn't a Jewish school.

You're an idiot.
I'm touched that you recall my work from so many years ago. I think it was actually Herman Goering that I quoted.
Now listen, I'm only gonna explain this once...and for you I'll go slow.
I wasn't praising Goering or Nazi Germany. I was using a statement he made back in the day in regards to selling a concept to the people by scaring them. It seemed appropriate given the selling that was going on at the time in a similar fashion by Bush/Cheney as to the attack on Saddam Hussein's Iraq....you know, for blowing up the World Trade Center.
How anyone with even half a brain could think that anything about my use of said quote indicated praise for Goering or the Nazis is a real head-scratcher. You must have been the smartest one in your class. And please tell me you don't have a Rutgers degree. It can't be.

Quoting Nazi's doesn't earn bonus points with me or most Jews.

Maybe you could add a quote from the KKK or Aryan nations.
I'm sure that many of our Jewish / Black members will thank you for the wisdom you will impart.

It's obvious that you were the smartest guy in your class: special ed.

Your post brings up something about the OP...am I the only one that thinks there may be a reason this idiot capped the 3 K's in his screen name?

It's from a Fish Called Wanda. It has nothing to do with what you are alleging-I never even thought of it until you brought it up.

Taco Bell's offering alcohol should add a whole new dimension to things. It reminds me of a joke on SNL. "I hear Taco Bell will start offering beer. I always thought Taco Bell was the place you go after you had beer."

"Quoting Nazi's doesn't earn bonus points with me or most Jews."

Bonus points ? I just checked and it turns out that bonus points ARE earned IF THE QUOTE IS USED IN THE RIGHT CONTEXT. That's a word you might wanna research a little bit, braniac: CONTEXT.
Now I'm wondering if I should tell you what you can do with your bonus points.
and BTW, if your panties get all bunched up when you hear a Nazi quote I suggest you stay away from The History Channel.
