We can’t compete on the new B1G with NIL spending what it is now in basketball.I'd be interested to know if or how NIL has hit non-revenue sports competing at the top 1% level like NU LAX.
I imagine a little NIL money would go a long way in this space (and I mean no disrespect in saying this), but I will also wonder out loud if there's so little NIL money around here that it allows players to prioritize educational pursuits and the program that genuinely appeals to them the most.
Yeah, it’s pretty disrespectful to be hammering the ladies that are some of the best in the nation at their craft. Not to get in the way of whatever this all is between you two, but just want to back the notion that a reasonable amount of WLAX spending is not a waste for as long as we have a program that's so regularly capable of competing for national championships. The sport may not be a fan-favorite more generally, but I've never read a "Northwestern wins national championship" headline that has ever made the school look bad.
To be clear they deserve their scholarships, room, and board. Not to get in the way of whatever this all is between you two, but just want to back the notion that a reasonable amount of WLAX spending is not a waste for as long as we have a program that's so regularly capable of competing for national championships. College athletics is a business, not a charity.Yeah, it’s pretty disrespectful to be hammering the ladies that are some of the best in the nation at their craft.
we aren’t talking about huge paydays here. A little goes a long way.
To be clear they deserve their scholarships, room, and board.
But spending NIL (advertising dollars) on a sport that 0.1% of fans pay attention to makes zero sense when we can’t currently compete in the two revenue sports.
You remain clueless, and very few, if any, folks on this Board agree with you, but you do you.College athletics is a business, not a charity.
Lacrosse literally got most of them into NU and they also have scholarships.
When Lacrosse starts being a revenue driver then things should change.
