Just end the charade.

As someone said, if your doing a show then have a performance and play the music over it.

Note - I'd do away with all halftime shows. Pro and college.

Maybe keep the little kid hockey at NHL games.

Well the Spectacle this year features Rihanna, so there will be some interesting visuals going on, which isnt a bad thing. I’ve had an ongoing joke with my sons that the bands I loved listening to took longer to get in tune than the length of the 12 minute Super Bowl halftime thing. Anyway I wanted to link one of my favorite comedians thoughts on the halftime show which I find funny and honest.

Recorded the game. Began watching at 7:45. Skipped over commercials and halftime. It was a great game and I saw everything I wanted to see.
