OT: Sunday Evening Sipping and Jamming

Sitting outside tonight with the headphones on after a long *** week of moving. Spent the whole weekend entertaining the kiddos outdoors until cable/internet gets connected. Finally taking a break and getting into my whiskey with my headphones on jammin' and drankin' with my old dog at my side.

Finishing off a bottle of Colkegan single malt whiskey I picked up last week. Little craft distillery out of Santa Fe mesgiote smoking a single malt. A little thin , but the smoke beats the hell outta peat.

Outta nowhere a song comes in on my playlist that inspires a new thread. For those of you who aren't in on Cody Jinks, you should be... My man is the best kind of throwback outlaw country/americana going. This song in particular made me think of current times and my current attitude towards the world. If you don't listen to the whole thing, at least do yourself the favor and skip to the 2:30 mark and listen. You won't regret it.

I have been in the city for too long gents. Better part of 15 years in one of the biggest cities in the world. Not always the best thing for the soul. Anyone on this board has got some of that other thang in em'. Get out into nature, even if it's just for the weekend. You won't regret it.

As for me, I found a couple other dawgs localish. I'm currently about halfway between Grinning Mule and Zombie Kissinger.. (I am about 3 hours apart from each) I think we may start the most remote alumni chapter in the country. Turns out I miss watching football with friends and with these two I am somewhere in the middle... Let's go Leach.

I've been laid up but the wifey and I have to take a day trip into the Hill Country to get away, so I understand nature thing We've seen every critter in central Texas just easing along though the hills.

My UT buds called me the moment the escape to the SEC went public. I had turned them into MSU fans so it's going to be interesting going forward. These guys are just ordinary, non-rabid, sidewalk Texas fans who don't have anything burnt orange. I'm steering clear of the mental fans. If they get too close I just yell, "Jackie Sherrill!!!" and they mumble and go away.

The BEST news I got was the wife is moving to dayshift (6-2) so I get someone to cuss and drink with while watching the games. She and my daughter are the biggest Dawg fans know.
