Public intoxication?

Dear lord, I better turn myself into a bunch of different police departments in a number of different states.

Isn’t that the point? He was really doing something else but cop’s probably charged him with the lesser offense.

a walk-on who wins 2 straight national championships can have a few drinks as long as he's not driving

He’s fortunate that a homeowner didn’t mistake him as an intruder , especially in Texas.

He won his last natty at 25-yrs old, 7 years older than Gavin ?

He’s listed by ESPN as 5-11 190 lbs and he’s really only mobile-ish with a 4.67 40 time. A team would literally have to be insane to draft him…because NFL cornerbacks can cover high-school five star receivers.

Embarrassed Shame GIF

Seriously, FFS, is public intoxication even a misdemeanor? As long as a person is not hurting someone else or property or driving, what's the problem if a person is intoxicated in public?
Was the arresting officer a TCU fan?

Seems like a nothingburger, but more context would help determine if there’s anything here (ie did he do something worse and charges got downgraded).

If it’s just public intoxication and nothing more, not much of a story.

*cops

Or, the more likely scenario is that he wasn't really doing much of anything at all except being drunk and the cops, being, ya know... cops... decided to be ********.

A little context on the charges:

Officers responded to reports of a man banging on doors in Old East Dallas, and upon finding Bennett, took him to a city detention center. Other details of the incident have not yet been released.

"The preliminary investigation found when officers arrived, they located the man, Stetson Bennett, 25, and determined he was intoxicated," said a Dallas Police Department statement. "Bennett was taken into custody, transported to the City Detention Center and charged with Public Intoxication.

The constables on Islay have your pic at the harbor. There's a notice you're not allowed off the boat.

With all these Texan homeowners with guns- I wonder why he wasn’t shot banging on their doors in the middle of the night, early morning…

Or another likely scenario is that the cops told him to go home and the kid , being, ya know, ...a kid..., decided to be an a**hole and started mouthing off and giving them a hard time.
A lot of possibilities.
Sounds like the cops did him a favor. A drunk 25 year old at 7:00AM (have to assume he was out all night) banging on stranger's doors on a Sunday morning? Picking him up off the streets might have saved him from himself and doing something really dangerous and stupid.

Lots of nothing here. Would love to have a QB who wins is two national titles and gets arrested on a misdemeanor. We have had lesser players get arrested.
We had a QB that stunk use a fake ID.

Agree, non story from holier than thou crowd
Not sure I ever just started pounding on strangers doors when drunk. Though, I did wake up in a neighbors house not remembering how I got there. They told me I pulled up, came in the front door and walked up to the bedroom I thought was mine. Lol

Let’s also remember, this is a 25 y/o man…

So, good chance he doesn’t make in the NFL.
He is looking for a good job at my company. Would it be fair to ask him why he wouldn’t do something so stupid while representing my company?
He can’t really respond “I was just a dumb kid and have grown up”

I don’t think he’ll have any problem getting a good job in Georgia.
