OT- state economy comparison/ equivalent counties

We're not worst and continue to improve.
Interesting all surrounding states are basically double ours (minus Arkansas which is similar).

I have not read what you posted, so maybe this is done on a per capita basis but isn’t every surrounding state at least double the population?

Louisiana 4.6 million
Tennessee 7.3 million
Mississippi 2.9 million

more able bodied workers = higher GDP

I suggest we quit worrying about such things because we aren't catching those other states, at least not in our lifetimes. Just enjoy what you got. Mississippi is what it is.
