OT: Starlink and meteor

We saw this thing flying over last night heading out to sea. Had no idea what it was at first thinking we were either under attack or it was some high precision military convoy but it was incredibly impressive to see.

To add onto the mystery 10 minutes later the brightness, greenest meteor flew across the sky in the same location

During its brief journey, the space rock achieved a brightness equal to that of a quarter Moon, captivating people across the region who pulled out their phones to capture the object as it traveled just over 55 miles through the atmosphere.

Was sitting outside Saturday night and admiring the sky when about 15 “stars” flew in single file and then disappeared. Had no idea what it was then found out it was starlink. Would have been really. Intense if it wasn’t starlink.

Yep if you see a light in the sky that looks like a star and moves like a plane but without the blinking lights, it's a satellite. If it's brighter than the stars then it's probably the ISS.

Jupiter and Saturn are visible at night these days, and Venus in the morning. Last night Jupiter was just west of the moon.
