After many Costco runs for tubs of Lysol wipes and vats of hand sanitizer,** taking a weekend trip with family to St. Louis here soon. Any advice on places to go (in particular with a toddler), areas to avoid staying, etc.? Thanks in advance.

Forest Park is legit. The zoo is inside the park and it’s awesome. Would be a great place for the family to hang out.

“The Hill” is an area of plenty of great Italian restaurants.

St Charles is my wife an I favorite area. There’s a river walk there and a lot of historic sites. A few breweries and wineries down the strip too if you’re into that.

Just stay away from East downtown and you’ll be fine. Washington Ave is a fun area but just like any downtown be mindful of your surroundings.

City museum, Busch stadium tour, gateway arch, Budweiser tour and zoo is free. We did all that a few years ago and they are all winners

I'll echo these and add Meramec Caverns. Its about an hour southwest of St. Louis but its definitely worth it.

Besides what’s mentioned. Go see the Clydesdales.

I second the Sugarfire nomination. There are several locations in the St. Louis area.

Very nice barbecue and I was happy to see that they were a food vendor at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre last year.

Pretty much everything everyone else said on here.
Two hotels I would suggest is The Union Station or out a bit further the Hilton Frontenac
Another good restaurant rec for BBQ is Pappys, for Cajun- Broadway Oyster Bar close to Busch stadium, Italian - Charlie Gritos and a cool spot and name is Eleven Eleven Mississippi

St. Louis has a pretty bad crime rate. But just like any other city be smart with your surroundings and you’re fine.

All of these are good choices. Another unique place for small children is the Magic House. Union Station has a new aquarium and a ferris wheel.
