Spitting at someone is waaay waaaaaay different than on the court play. This was idiotic.

Spit can contain diseases and bacteria. Just like urine or fecal matter. And I have no doubt you’d be screaming for an arrest in that situation.

And it should show on his record. He’s over 18. He’s a LEGAL adult. I wouldn’t want to hire someone like this. And have my business be liable for this hothead. Can you imagine him on a service call or working with a client and he just gets pissed off and spits on someone? Congrats! You now have a major lawsuit on your hands. If a Kentucky player did this after our loss let's say at Auburn (which i think fits in comparison) what would be Cal's response? The player is sitting out the season due to injury so suspension means nothing.
I seem to remember last year someone suspended for acting out and talking back. It possibly hurt our team long term to do that. And, now that player is gone.

In a case like this Cal would have very little say. A law was broken. AD and University president would have ultimate authority here. Player would be off the team and their student eligibility would be in question.

I'm pretty sure you were one of the idiots defending BLM's actions during the summer of riots so it's no surprise you think it's ok to spit on somebody because somebody may have called you a name or provoked you.

I think spitting on someone is simply unacceptable. It's disgusting. It's disrespectful. I don't know if the person has any infectious diseases. It's not ok, and we as a society need to stop excusing it. I 100% support the kid being arrested and having a record. I don't care what was done or said. You don't spit on people. Nothing done nor said constitutes spitting on someone.

I was with you until the wouldn’t hire someone like this comment. He is legal but stand up if you didn’t do lots of dumb stuff until you were 25 years old. Most of which you didn’t get caught and were lucky. Young people do dumb stuff. This is a perfect example of something that should be disciplined but not a permanent record. Pay fines, community service, etc.
I agree with you, programs and venues need to crack down. But you still can't escalate to assault.
