Personally, It looked like it should have happened years ago and perhaps it wouldn't have been by this bad *** and his lesson would have been learned without the nap.

criminal assault

guy might have said something provocative but no way that was self-defense.

Don’t know, looks like the guy was having a good time and was rudely bumped, maybe expected an “Excuse me?” I get it, dude was taking up the whole walkway, but totally unnecessary to do what that guy did especially when you are a trained fighter and knew you could knock out that dude….jmo
I’ve dealt with drunken people before and that guy was, at the time, harmless.

If you are an MMA fighter you walk away from a harmless guy like this.

I guess we will just have to disagree, the drunk dude backed into the fighter and the fighter gave him a little shove and walked on by, the drunk dude said something to the fighter and the fighter turned around and face the drunk dude, drunk dude puffed his chest and appeared to cock his right arm as if to feign a punch. Drunk dude was promptly put to sleep.

If drunk dude just goes on with his little story about arm wrestling, or whatever he is talking about, nothing happens. But he opened his mouth, faked a punch and **** got real.

don't lead with your chin btw

Schilling will face civil & criminal trials. The tavern should be sued for serving intoxicated patrons. Schilli is (was) a pro fighter, no way the drunk made Joe (“fear for his life”).

I don't see the right arm of the drunk guy being a threat. He was off balance and if that was some attempt at a punch, fein or just lifting it up to talk with, it wasn't much of a threat.

I charge him. No clear verbal or physical threat. The fighter dude walked right up to the guy knowing exactly what he was going to do, squared up and ready to go.

I agree. Guy seemed to have anger issues.

Well for starters it's a bad camera angle but imo it appears drunk guy said something that made MMA dude turn around and his body movement appears consistent with pulling back for a punch.

Reflex by MMA? Yes

Self defense? Stretch.

Take a step back and drunk dude probably blows through and lands on his face

Doesn't matter that it wasn't much of a threat, he faked a punch, we know he faked a punch because it is after the fact. The fighter doesn't know that the idiot wasn't going to actually throw a punch. What if he did throw the punch? The fighter is just suppose to take the blow then retaliate? C'mon most males at a bar, in that exact same situation, throw a punch when the used car salesman drops the left and feigns the punch. Regardless of if was much of a threat or not. Threat avoided, if you just let the dude walk by and don't call him back with "hey"

Sort of a different conversation we are having, collectively, from when the Iowa basketball player (J BO) got laid the eff out for doing essentially the same thing. Pity for the used car salesman, not so much for the college basketball player.

I don't think we know that he faked a punch. Maybe a better angle would have helped. It looks like the drunk guy does one of those chest/neck pump fakes.

The fighter is looking to fight. He could totally deescalate this and does the opposite. It's like having a handgun. You don't act tougher because you have it. Rather, you use it as a last resort. You do your best to avoid conflict.

Sheesh Tuco, the fighter dude was threatened by this guy even if he was lifting his arm to punch? He is a pro. He can see a real punch coming from a mile away and can easily stop it if he wanted to.

I fought full contact back in the day and spent a lot of time in the self defense realm. This guy knew he had an easy target and decide to blast him. He could of just as easily walked away and nothing would happen.

Drunk dick got what he deserved.
MMA fighter dick will get what he deserves.
I am fine with that. I just know that 9/10 bar fights are just like this. Dude who shouldn't be talking ****, is, and dude who knows he can kick the other guys ***, does.

I know what you are saying, but the fighter walked away after the first bump, even gave a head nod like, no problem, then the dude said "hey" and faked the punch and got dropped.

We know a lot of info because it is after the fact. In real time, the fighter was just a buff dude in a pretty common shirt. The accountant had no idea he was an MMA fighter. He was a dumbass, called the guy back and faked the punch. If that was Joe Blow and not Joe Shilling everyone sides with Joe Blow. Did Shilling have to hit the guy, of course not, but again, don't puff your chest at someone and not expect to get rocked.

Clear assault and battery. Multiple punches thrown even after it was clear there was no real threat. Fighter looked like he was looking for a fight.. enjoy the jail time and lawsuits fool.

Tuco, you’re trying too hard.

You’re also assuming way too much that you can’t prove, and basing a lot on your feelings toward the drunk “used car saleseman” bro.

Thats assault.

Assault and Battery. Bro was in a total relaxed position and Vibing. Guy swings for no reason that I can see.

I've shared this before but when I was working out in self defense, we had a couple, she was tall and very good and he was a shorter but wide wild man. He loved to fight and would practice moves and then go pick fights in bars so he could see if they worked or not. He was relentless, not all that bright as you might of guessed, recruiter for the army but I hated it when I had to fight him.

He was ALWAYS looking for a fight, didn't matter the time of day, where he was at, or situation but a drunk guy at a bar would be perfect cannon fodder.
